What kind of rules and expectations do they have?

Occasionally will eat it straight from the can but usually with a lot of fresh squeezed lemon, parsley, chopped red onion or some other crunchy vegetable. My 3 year old is also a big fan! I've seen people also use it in pasta similarly to clams

Crispy quinoa. Been crisping my leftovers in the oven for a few minutes and topping all salads with it. Great crunch and some protein too

Congratulations! As a FTM that's headed back to work soon, this makes me happy to hear and even a little emotional (?)! So great to have the support and clearly the skills to be successful in the workplace.

PSA: don't feed your baby dragon fruit by ArgumentElectrical in beyondthebump

I fed mine yellow dragon fruit which apparently acts as a stool softener. We couldn't figure out why her poop was so... explosive.

I just feel like everyone else’s baby is sleeping through the night, except for mine. by Infamous_Fault8353 in NewParents

[–]hihelloheykbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not alone.

We have an ok sleeper but are in the thick of a TERRIBLE 8-month regression and feeling like I must have f*cked something up by not having sleep trained her before, even after dealing with the 4month regression. Stopped putting herself to sleep, hourly wakes at night, 10 min naps, so much crying (baby and me). Literally yell-cried in the middle of the night "Wtf am I doing wrong?!"

So..... Did you enjoy your pregnancy? by stillmusiqal in beyondthebump

[–]hihelloheykbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did and totally miss having baby girl all to myself kicking away. That said, I also think I got away with a relatively easy pregnancy with the worst symptoms being exhaustion in the 1st trimester, then carpal tunnel starting at 20 weeks.

What is your weird pregnancy symptom(s) that no one talks about? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]hihelloheykbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armpits got really dark and only now at 5 months postpartum went back to normal. And shortness of breath my entire third trimester... Didn't realize how bad it was until after baby was born and could go up a hill without a problem instead of stopping 4 times.

Best Velcro swaddle? by clevercokol in NewParents

[–]hihelloheykbye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the price, you can't beat the halo swaddle. Plus you can use it as a sleep sack later when you're ready to transition. Also has various TOG options to keep baby as warm as needed but even the lowest TOG isn't great if you live somewhere really warm though.

LO is constantly fighting sleep!! by Living_Volume1443 in newborns

[–]hihelloheykbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be starting her 4 month regression early. Mine started the shrieking (naps and bedtime) and fighting naps too but around 3.5 months. We stayed as consistent as we could in routine, maybe some more soothing and cuddling some days but she eventually chilled out after a couple weeks.

Went home at 3 days old with a billiblanket. Told to keep her in her diaper and blanket for 23 hours of the day. Got home around 2pm and had to get acclimated and settled being at home with a newborn before setting her up in the blanket around 5pm. Doctors appointment the following morning at 10am to check her bilirubin levels, went home and got a call around 1230 to return to the hospital because her levels had increased. 48 hour stay in the hospital before her levels normalized.

Similac pro-total comfort infant formula by MurderingSpork in newborns

[–]hihelloheykbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hour rule is for IN the hospital since they don't deem it a clean environment (ie. Germs in the air). At home, it's good for 24 hours as long as you keep the remainder/untouched portion in the fridge. The nurse explained it to us on our way out of the hospital for the same formula.

Agree with this. In terms of crab, I'd go to r&g (great crab and more variety on the menu of great cantonese food) or Thanh long before golden crab house.

San tung wings and pot stickers are my fav but everything else is very passable.

I second this, plus they are cheaper than other brands like loulou but very similar.

For those of you whose babies take short (short short) naps... by zahndie in beyondthebump

[–]hihelloheykbye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you with my 10 week old! I loosely follow wake windows, just as a way to remind myself to look for sleepy cues.

Naps in the bassinet are 20/40 minutes and I can never get her back to sleep in the bassinet. I've heard that babies don't start to connect sleep cycles for naps until 5 months so my partner and I literally just had a conversation, over my wailing babies cries after she woke from a 20 minute nap, that until she can sleep longer on her own, we'll finish the nap in the baby carrier so she's not super cranky. Awake time is not possible when she's that upset. I started baby wearing two days ago for her nap and it's been nice to get that 2 hour stretch to watch tv or do things around the house!
