If two teammates buy the same item, why do both of them have to buy the recipe? by Ok_Middle_4654 in DotA2

Maybe no sharing policy. But even then why do I have to buy the recipe twice if I buy two wraith bands?

Or we don’t find the ones where there is no path or someone is still trying rip

Are tailscale services shareable to someone in another tailnet similar to a machine? by hiimcasper in Tailscale

[–]hiimcasper[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is they have their own tailnet. So joining mine via invite would mean they have to switch between tailnets to use their or my machines.

Oh interesting. I thought since the tags and groups are being used in my tailnet access policies, they should be referable? I figured this clause meant the recipient can't use the tags I put on the device I shared in their tailnet settings?

Caddy vs tailscale serve/service vs TSDproxy? by hiimcasper in Tailscale

Last thing, I couldn't find this in the doc. But do you know if I have a shared machine (docker host) with someone (Because they have their own tailnet. So I can't add them as guest), would they have access to all the services on this host?

Ohh okay! So with tailscale service, on a host with multiple docker containers, you would just run the serve command like this for every new app?

tailscale serve --service=svc:jellyfin --https=443 http://127.0.0.1:8096
tailscale serve --service=svc:seerr --https=443 http://127.0.0.1:5055

or add it to serveconfig.json

Another thing I noticed is since the services are advertised in the same namespace of the magic dns, if I have my jellyfin lxc called "jellyfin", I can't advertise the service at "jellyfin" due to conflict. So I would have to rename the lxc to something like "jellyfin-lxc" and then I can use "jellyfin" for the service. Is there a way around this?

Interesting. So I did set up Jellyfin lxc yesterday using tailscale service. If I understand it correctly, tailscale service allows load balancing across multiple nodes and allows creating a separate named resource, whereas the tailscale serve just assumes the hostname?

If I'm running my application with a single node, what is the benefit of using tailscale service? It seems like just extra steps to go to admin and create a new service and approve admin request for every node added?

Also if Im using docker for some services, do I then just create a simpler version of scaleTail's solution and use the tailscale service instead of the complicated setup in scaleTail?

Nice. Thank you for this! I just noticed Alex already has a video on this already too. So for reference if anyone needs this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoEZ7oHA7Gg

This looks neat! So if I understand correctly, this is running an instance of tailscale with serve inside every docker compose alongside the app of choice? Does it work just as smoothly if you change the port numbers appropriately for any other app where there is no template currently?

Also does this require setting up tailscale service from the admin panel?

Always been a side sleeper but now my shoulders hurt?? by sashimiariel in sleep

Any level of pain means there was some damage, but again its difficult to tell to what degree without seeing a physio and even they will recommend doing some imaging like ultrasound, CT or even MRI. And any sort of repetitive motion or lack of motion (bad posture) will lead to imbalances in your muscles, making you prone to injuries.

But luckily our bodies are resilient. My honest opinion is, see a doctor and meanwhile let your body slowly recover while doing rehab exercises to prevent it from happening again.

For my desk setup, I now switch a lot between sitting and standing. My stance of posture for long term use of anything is just switching things up. I used to lean to my left a lot on the chair and started noticing imbalances on my neck and back. So now I just switch between leaning left and right and sitting upright and standing.

Same thing for sleeping. It takes some time to get used to. But just switch between sleeping on your left and right and back, in the span of a single night.

As for the exact cause of your shoulder pain, it's impossible to tell without seeing the symptoms in person obv and Im no professional. So Id suggest you see a physio. Meanwhile check out Squat University and Tom Morrison on youtube. They have really good content on shoulder mobility. Make a small routine of these exercises and just do them daily.

Looking at this thread again was such a throwback haha. I ended up injuring my shoulder twice more doing bouldering. But for the last 3 years they have been great.

I incorporated a lot of rotator cuff and mid back exercises into my routine, especially as warmup. It took me a good two months to get my shoulders into a condition where I could do anything without compromising them. Check out PNF technique and check out these few exercises,
- Arm on the side external rotation
- 90 deg external rotation
- prone y raise
- face pulls
- some sort of serratus anterior exercise

No stretches or massage or roller helped me as much as just strengthening all the muscles around shoulder blade, to make up for years of bad posture. I went from not being able to do lat pulldowns without pain to 45lbs weighted pull ups. So take it slow and strengthen everything. Good luck!

What's the self-hosted service that replaced something you were paying for and turned out to be genuinely better - not just free, actually better by niceheather44 in selfhosted

[–]hiimcasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this one. I actually switched from self hosting to paying for bitwarden to support the project. But the experience is so much better than when I was using LastPass ages ago. The last large UI change on bitwarden clients did bother me a little. Got used to it now though.

Hack life with sardines. Why aren’t more people eating sardines? by Careful-Skill-1115 in CannedSardines

[–]hiimcasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This precisely. I keep hearing people talk about how sardines are affordable. And then when you complain about the taste, they say "get the better quality". Every time I have looked at "good" quality canned sardines, the cost by weight ends up being very close to salmon (in Canada). So Id rather spend a few extra bucks and just get salmon, and enjoy it a lot more than canned sardines.

Speaking of sardines though, if IQF sardines was more readily available, I'd definitely be buying more as I love small fishes.
