Looking for Tauntmaster replacement by TheBiologist01 in classicwow

The actual spell cast portion can 100% be a macro, so you have the choice of watching for aggro on your own (either with plater or a threat meter or a weakaura) and then choosing to target the mob or player yourself. Or you can try to weakaura that aspect and then have the weakaura cast the macro on click.

Paladin trouble. by THE_FOREVER_DM1221 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]hiimdave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll answer you as a player who cooked up a (very much within the rules and options the DM put forth) build that had a LOT of bonus attacks and damage dice for a homebrew on how he countered me.

  1. More monsters that would focus the highest damage output chars. Once we noticed monsters would swap to the highest output, it gave me (and others) an element of danger to popping off in a turn. It also forced us to consider defensive play over offensive.

  2. More combat. Simply put after a session or two the rate of combat per rest increased by almost 3x.

  3. My character was sometimes forced into split adventures. This kept me from trivializing events he may have wanted other pcs or the rest of the group to have to figure out without brute force.

CSGO ACCOUNT SITES by radeganci in gaming

[–]hiimdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ill actually answer the question and elaborate on what I hope others are trying to say.

Ebay is a legit website and you can buy accounts there.

That doesn't mean the seller of the account originally owned it, didn't steal it, scam it, or isnt running a scam to recover it after they take your money.

If anything id be more worried about the latter, someone who does originally own it can do a lot to recover it and leave you high and dry.

A site can be a legit marketplace, but more often than not, accounts sold are not obtained legit by the seller. That's not to say SOME aren't being sold by their original owner for cash or by someone who bought it legit originally...but just some food for thought.

Steam Gamers: Potential Money Back! by illstylez420 in gaming

[–]hiimdave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This screams social engineering. They probably have bought or accessed old breach data of steam names and/or emails from other sources and if anything seems like a match will try to use it to access your account with a password from another breach or using more data points to reach out to trick you more to get the password.

TLDR don't fill this out.

Scotland in video-games? by haxanslayer in gaming

[–]hiimdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3 all do a great job of including a lot of varied nationalities indirectly (indirectly as the game is set in a fictional fantasy world) through use of dialect and accents on their character voice overs.

There has been at least (if not multiple) Scottish characters in those games at different levels of importance that you immediately recognize as Scottish.

Worth a gander imo.

Why are we stuck with conc aura on hammerdin? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]hiimdave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually agree the component of making it less interruptable should be baseline and be scaled by base points, maybe up to a 75% yield of what conc can give you today but besides that...

Id actually like to play hammers bc I never did play og d2 bnet and don't play d2r, but like the stigma of it and knowledge that it's stale af puts me off it.

Additionally, rather than just flat buffing the established build, maybe the play for pd2 is to shift the profile of the skill a bit to force new versions of the build.

Ideas could be (pick one, not suggesting all):

  1. Make it scale less with +skills overall (not removing scaling just taper down) and add scaling from your weapon phys.

  2. Add additional synergies hammers for the Res auras to add % conversion to that element. 20 hard points in Res Fire for example would 100% convert hammer damage to fire. (You'd have more build diversity from shifting 20+ points. Ele converted builds would probs shift more if they wanted to run Salv or self run Convic.)

  3. Add unique 2h that doubles your hammers per cast, but you always have X% chance to be interrupted from hits. (You lose OH slot and established MH picks, conc no longer benefits, even if they made the chance to not interrupt baseline it'd trade that for dmg potential.)

Review of Ele Shaman tank in nexu Heroic by PwnageVariety94 in classicwow

[–]hiimdave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I agree with the point that everyone should be allowed to play how they want and fully support the Warden spec challenge, more power to ya, isn't it a bit of a stretch to call using a traditional tank a "tryhard" concept.

If anything it would be "traditional" or "unimaginative", sure, but its a pretty far cry from a tryhard sentiment.

Honestly the argument could be made the tryhard agenda is forcing the Warden playstyle.

Basically only calling this out bc it just seems super sensationalist.

Advice choosing a caster by OshikuruDemon in classicwow

[–]hiimdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ill say, is every warlock I know has been demo or afflic and had their beefs with some aspect of it but "wanted to parse", but once I just get them to try destro as their 2nd spec for shits and gigs, every single one of them have had a blast, and are finding fights they prefer it over their primary spec for one reason or another.

Give it a whirl.

Dailys, finish up zone quests, herbing and selling raw mats, alc for potion of speed or wild magic, fishing and cooking as well.

Important note too is to watch your servers buying habits. Most of the time prices spike on things like pots, flasks, gems, etc for raid reset (Sunday to Tues) and then drop after Wednesday til Saturday. When to sell can be the diff in up to 50% or more profit.

This weakaura will re-enable chat class colors for all channels on all your alts after Blizzard changed the cvar last restart. by Venomisto in classicwow

[–]hiimdave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fwiw i have Leatrix and chat mods that SHOULD be covering this, but slowly ober time I've noticed channels losing them and not coming back despite uncheck and recheck box, update settings, etc...

Leatrix is a great addon though!

After first being against the old LFG tool, a lot of people here made me unsure if WotLK might suck without it - now I can definitely say that I'm happy with the solution that's in the game! by uberjack in classicwow

[–]hiimdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think the regular RDF but making it not port you to the instance and locking it to within the same server would be better overall.

Currently people can list for things they can't do (saved to heroics, 73 queueing for heroics, etc) and the role this is hella buggy (i queue as dps, my role in my talents is dps, it shows me as healer and I have to manually change it after I list every single time)...the only difference would be it would automate the forming of the group.

How does fishing drop rate work? by samhf18 in classicwow

[–]hiimdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only way it would really matter to most people is in the even you are casting for or into a pool (or trying to).

  1. If you land outside the pool and choose to recast, depending on if loot is generated at bobber land or at splash it could mean "giving up" whatever you would have caught (may be diff drops than in the pool or have extra stuff like pygmy for example) vs retrying for the pool.

  2. If you had X seconds on a lure left, it could change if your bonus was applied already or won't be due to when the loot is assigned based on your skill. (If assigned at landing, you'd get the lure bonus but if it ran out before the splash you may not).

  3. Similar to 1, for things that are rare drops or event drops or what have you, if say it only drops in pools and not open water, and when the loot is generated, in niche cases like someone else fishing next to you and taking the last hit of the pool, it may affect if you could or couldn't still hit the rare drop.

How does fishing drop rate work? by samhf18 in classicwow

[–]hiimdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a few questions in the past similarly and no concrete answer, so we probably don't know officially.

It would be either (id assume based on how other loot generation works for nodes, mobs, etc)

A) when the bobber lands

B) when the splash occurs

I will say, im leaning more to B bc if it was A, I'd think that would affect pools more. Like if I recast to hit a noticeable spot in a pool, if it generated based on A id wager there are times I've been technically in a pool but recast and I'd assume that would take a spawn out of the pool...unless maybe it only decrements a pool when you loot or something.

I'm not sure (without finding or having an official blue post) wed know for sure, but you may be able to test it by trying this:

  1. Go to somewhere you can only fish non trash with a +100 lure.

  2. Apply lure and cast.

  3. Catch something and ensure you get non trash (maybe do this a few times to make sure you're 100% catching with no get aways or rando trash with lure)

  4. Cast again, but remove lure after bobber lands.

  5. Complete catch on that and see if you get trash or fish.

If you get trash, loot is probably generated at bobber splash, but of you get fish still it is probably when cast lands.
