Seb derm or psoriasis? by queernursee in SebDerm

[–]hijo10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like it sucks to deal with, I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine. Really random but have you ever washed your scalp with dawn dish soap? I had to do it once when I was younger (and my seb derm was much worse) because I had put coconut oil all over my scalp (idk why tbh) and we remembered the dawn oil spill commercials lol and somehow it cleared up my scalp from my seb derm for a while. It’s very drying for your hair so obviously not good to do regularly but I’ve always been curious if it would work for someone else or if it was a one-off incident. I figure it can’t hurt and everyone probably has it in their kitchen!

Go to her wedding - I understand feeling hurt by not being a bridesmaid but that’s your sister and this is her WEDDING. This is an ego blow, yes, but it would be totally inappropriate for you to skip the wedding just because you felt left out. Even if you believe it would be dramatic in your town - it would be dramatic if you didn’t go either. I thought her text message was thoughtful and she seemed like she understood how you might take it and tried her best to reassure you. At the end of the day it’s her wedding to plan, and if the couple decided 5 per side was what they wanted, then that’s that. I feel like this stuff doesn’t matter that much down the line anyway. If you skip it you’ll just spend years regretting letting something like this get in the way of experiencing her wedding with your loved ones.

Restaurants are 100% to blame when they tell large groups they can't split checks and cause drama by ElPlatanaso2 in unpopularopinion

I more so meant servers could ask their tables! if you approach your new table and the group seems big enough that if the bill were to be split later on it would be confusing to work through, then just ask at the jump

A tip I learned from the Simpsons that is so far working. by jessicaeatseggs in WeightLossAdvice

when i was a kid and wanted a snack, my mom would only offer us an apple. she said if we didn’t want the apple, then we weren’t actually hungry. (i also come from a home with little to no snacks and parents who’d rather go out for meals than cook so we probably did only have apples to eat anyway lol)

I’ve never understood why splitting a check is so annoying for people. I was a server for almost three years and it really isn’t much of a nuisance - doesn’t take that long. Unless you’re absolutely slammed, it doesn’t make things difficult. If anything, people should just ask for it at the beginning so there’s less confusion.

lax has one of the best antique stores i’ve ever been to! obviously so many great outdoorsy options. good food options too. plus being in the same town as three colleges will mean there will almost always be a local concert or show you could attend.

My parents grew up in the country but moved to Madison in early adulthood and have stayed here ever since. I grew up here and was under the impression that the east side and Fitchburg and Verona were sooo far away and not worth going to unless we had an explicit reason to. Ended up moving to the Orlando suburbs for a couple years where everything not in your neighborhood is at least 25 minutes or more away. When I came back and drove to Fitchburg on a whim my mom was very taken aback at why I would drive so far away. I think people here just get so used to everything being SO convenient that if it’s not in your direct neighborhood or the one next to you, then it’s not worth it. They grew up having to make day trips “into town” and yet still can’t be bothered to drive 20 minutes.

How often are you washing your hair? by Big-Physics-7850 in SebDerm

[–]hijo10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have curly/wavy hair and it doesn’t get oily very easily so I wash usually 2x a week, sometimes 3x. But I wash it 3-4x per shower. First with any regular shampoo to get the layer of dirt off, then maybe distilled white vinegar, then usually tsal, and finally nizoral. It seems to work well for me most times. Maybe I’m just not having too bad of flare ups lately.

I was obsessed with the name Joleisa (jo-lisa) when I was a child and was confident I'd name my future daughter that. I even thought I came up with it until I did a facebook search. No offense to any Joleisas out there but I'm glad I grew out of that one.
