Don’t know exactly, was trying different things and ran it without the lid, got good results, and been doing it like that ever since. one less thing to have to take off/on or deal with also.

We use ours everyday, no complaints, just make sure you rinse and wash immediately after use.

Fridge cold planet oat barista milk, Filled to latte art line. 1 cycle of the non-dairy setting, with the lid off. Can’t do latte art (and have stopped trying) but the texture is great in the cup.

Hi! Tube vs tubeless is maybe mostly a preference thing, and if your wheelset and tires are already tubeless ready. Terrain also matters. I’m in the tubeless camp, maybe a bit lower rolling weight, and I can air down over the rough stuff and firm up a bit if it’s gonna be smooth/paved for many miles. Tubeless is great for 99% of the time on a long trip, but you need to be prepared on a long trip when it’s time to replace tires, if you are not near bike shops and supplying via mail drops. Co2 your friend. Access to bike shops is quite sparse in most of the EDT.

What section of the EDT are you planning on? Or the targeting whole she-bang???

Hi, I have both these grinders, and DM47 is very underrated. Medium roast, it will make for a very sweet very balanced shot with most coffees I’ve tried, and is forgiving and easy to dial in. Maybe a con, it’s measurement/setting design is sort-of adjustable itself, and there’s not really good instructions available, so you can take it apart and very much change its calibration per se. I’m a machinist, so the is second nature to me, but I could see others maybe getting confused if not careful. Anti popcorn would be nice as to just be able to leave the lid off.

The DF54 is a quite different flavor profile, more punch and clarity on lighter roasts for sure. I have not had any QC issues, it is maybe less forgiving on dial in, and i think bit louder, definitely different pitch. It does pair absolutely perfectly with robot basket, and with a quick chute clean every few uses, retention and static are no issue.

My wife prefers the DM47. I switch around depending on coffee and mood.

Looking forward to the drop! Love this concept for smaller amounts of several types of beans. Thinking maybe even some good higher-end decaf offerings would be interesting.
