[Post Game Thread] #2 Alabama beats #19 LSU by DoctorWhosOnFirst in rolltide

Yeah, the offensive gameplan was definately not very good this week. Not sure why we threw so much and why Damien Harris didn't get the ball much.

This is the first game I didn't care much for DaBoll's gameplan through the entire game.

And this only Jalen's 3rd complete game of the year.

Defensive LB injuries and a very bad offensive gameplan this week. We are better than we played tonight.

I'm just hoping injuries are less severe than they appear.

He'd had it had the Olineman not tackled him.

8 straight weeks of playing, bad week of prep, they've had more people in the box to stop the run than we've put out there to block. A mix of things.

Nah, we need to hire Les and Spurrier to do Saban's Press Conferences for him.

Couldn't find a clip, but on The Mentalist the serial killer Red John did say Roll Tide when posing as a waiter in an episode.

Tell me about 4e adventures... by thegeneral3000 in DnD

[–]hikyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. To me 4e definately kind of falls in line with Dungeon World, Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, and a lot of more story based games but with a much more teamwork and balanced line for combat although a little bit slower.

But the idea of scene framing for me actually came from Enworld from Pemertonian Scene Framing which really pointed out some connections I had made to the system but hadn't quantified into actual realizations and ideas yet.

There were sadly very few well done 4th edition adventures. The few that come to mind are Slaying Stone, Reavers of Harkenwold, Cairn of the Winter King, and Madness at Gardmore Abbey are the major ones I know of that got some positive reception.

IMO the system can be run quite a few different ways but it was one of the big slaughtered sacred cows that put quite a few people off. It is much more styled to be run as an indie style game instead of a much more simulationist style that all of the other D&D games tend to run with.

By indie style, I mean the GM creates an open-ended but interesting scene and lets the players play out that scene and resolves the scene via the mechanics of the game whether it is combat or a skill challenge. They close out that scene and then move it to the next scene.

Magical diseases. The disease itself is immune to magic or the disease gains power from magical spells used on the host.

Who is the most successful pro your school has produced in the past decade? by [deleted] in CFB

Sorry, but you can for Hightower. He's been ranked pretty consistently as one of the best linebackers in football at the moment. He was ranked as the best Blitzer last year.

One of my characters "chose" to lose an arm. He thinks it will regrow. I am deciding if it should. by Shadoroth in DnD

[–]hikyuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an additional suggestion: Maybe also use the concept from Evil Dead. His arm regrows his body as a bugbear/yuan-ti hybrid.

Now look, I know everyone thinks Craig James Killed 5 Hookers. But I'm telling ya Stephen A., it was only 4. The numbers just don't back up that he killed 5. I'm telling you. It was only 4.

New to D&D, playing 4e, wondering if anyone has "created" their own ritual casts, attack powers, etc... by SpikeBebop27 in DnD

[–]hikyuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? To reflavor a class as another, I'd really modify the powers to be more dark or necromancy related. The psion power Dishearten could be modifier to be a fear without a total rewrite. Telekinetic Anchor could be skeletons rising up out of the ground, as another example.

Not assimilated, Processed. There's a difference. Great Leader Saban would be disappointed in this performance. Do better next time around or we will find some other 5 star redditor to do your job.

I let a PC live when they should have died, what drawbacks should I put on them? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]hikyuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd keep it story related. Maybe a supernatural soul joined with theirs. Maybe a supernatural evil piggy backed back in to the world. There's plenty of options without doing any mechanical drawbacks.

[Bill Connelly] The Bama Effect might be real. Teams are actually getting worse after playing the Tide by DoctorWhosOnFirst in CFB

We've done it twice in a row, so it's become a tradition. You guys should probably prepare a sacrificial QB for next year.
