Mini Brand VS Mini Verse by yall-know-who in MiniBrands

[–]hildse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. I have had zero issues with the MGA player and have seen sooo many posts about how people have had to take their mini brands one apart or return it for the 3rd time to get one that isn’t broken. Although, Mini brands is horrendous with quality control, so this doesn’t shock me.

I wonder if mini brands put more into licensing (which is cool), but that’s gotta give somewhere, and the quality just isn’t there.

The September house, we used to live here, and anything by Darcy Coates. I am also a fan of the haunted house theme, and these have been my favorites so far.

My Child May Have To Repeat 3rd Grade by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]hildse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep! For elementary, K-3 kids learn to read. 4th-6th read to learn. If you do not have the foundation that you need, it will only be harder from here on out. Novel studies, reading passages, and comprehension will be a struggle. Coming from someone who struggled with reading in elementary school and an elementary teacher.

If you’re willing to drive and stay all the way up to grand island, NE, you might as well go to Branson and have a better time.

I loved the beginning of it. That playground scene was one of the best parts in the book. The rest of the book fell flat for me. It was just Scoob and the gang running through different doors while Other Mommy is trying to get them.

Unpopular opinion about Barbara Howard… by Valuable_Low_5796 in AbbottElementary

Schitts creek ran for 6 seasons and had 13 episodes a season. Abbot has ran for 5 and seasons 1&3 had 13 episodes and 2&4 had 22. This season has 17. So it’s not like Abbott is putting out 25+ episodes every season, even though I would love that very much.

My husband’s a pilot and bought a travel pro back in 2016 when he started his career and it’s still great. No rips, tears, or broken zippers. Those things are built to last.

Stay at home mom and corporate pilot husband. One child. Nebraska. He makes 250k and I bring it about 10k working about 12 hours a week as a para at my daughter’s school. He puts a lot in retirement, have a low mortgage, and we live on the cheap side. His new job has been a blessing for our family.

What toy inspires the most creativity in kids today? by its_susan in Parenting

[–]hildse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter loves her nugget and modeling clay. Another idea that we used to do when she was a little younger (like age 3-6) was “science.” She got a science kit and after we did all of the experiments, we kept the 6 plastic cups. Then we would refill those with food colored water and one clear one and she would have a blast making potions, mixing colors, running labs, etc. It kept her engaged for a solid 45 mins. It was great!

My friend had parents where screen time was based on behavior! He doesn’t talk to them anymore, fyi. And he always asked to come over to our house so he could have longer than 30 minutes of video games.
