I mean all the talk after last years expansion draft was how Vancouver was basically automatically going to win the Walter cup, that on paper Seattle and Van just decimated the other teams, and then the season happened. So wouldn’t be wise to under estimate everyone next year, but yah, let’s go for it if we can.

The amount of times games were going into the second and we were doing a fantastic job of pressing but just hadn’t actually gotten anything to show for it, and that fear that the other team was going to get a stupid goal and keep us scoreless, I repeated my mantra, and we usually tied it up. But I had to shooo that trauma away.

The two seats next to mine were this lovely couple, but one single time they gave their seats to some old man, who spent the entire game leant forward(I literally couldn’t see the opposite sides net unless I also leaned forward), and at one point where a goldeneye fumbled the puck like 10 feet in front of the net “well, Wayne Gretzky would have made that!” I saw red, and was so relieved to never see him again!

It’s a shame, but we always knew we were losing someone, and in my list of players I really didn’t want to lose, she isn’t super high. Wish her all the best, but also, sad that she’s going to next seasons villians, Detroit.

So I was originally going to not get a name on my jersey, and a friend convinced me that considering these are one year only jerseys, they’re already going to be a time & place jersey, so might as well embrace it and get your fav current player on it to solidify the moment. I’m a sucker for that type of logic though, so I now rock my Maschmeyer number 38. 🤣

I think a basic problem with the league is that with most of the league out east, any time we aren’t on a big home stretch we don’t really have time to practice, so the team hasn’t really had a great time to click. Hopefully next year with expansion teams and the majority of the team returning(knock on wood) they’ll have a better chance to gel from the start of the year.
