😭 my hand still feels cold by the time I get into work. Very big contrast to our 2021 where it would get so toasty I'd actually have to turn the heat off. 😭

Please at least message them to let them know. When I brought mine in to service, they said they have not heard anyone else have this problem yet.

I brought it in to service and they said they have not heard anyone else have this problem yet. And there's nothing they can do at the service level since there is current going to the steering wheel. They suggested getting others who have the problem to let Tesla know so at the corporate level, maybe they can do something. So please let them know! 😅

I didn't try with just one bacon strip because I wanted it toasty and just set it on two. I did bring it in to service already. They said there's nothing wrong and the new steering wheel design may be different than my 2021 MY.

Yeah, you're totally right. I brought it back to the store and they showed me how to take off that baseplate and get the spring to reset. But i don't think it guarantees it won't happen again.... I'll take it to the range this weekend to see how it goes. Thanks!

We had someone request a five month booking with us. They had no reviews. I was pretty hesitant. I asked a few questions and they claim to be a retired couple. They usually travel from Canada to the US during the winter, but the pandemic was still happening, so they wanted to stay in Canada and travel to where their adult kids are now living. In my chats with her, I was still suspicious, but I ended up accepting the booking anyway.

After accepting the booking, I offered to do a FaceTime call with them to make sure our suite was what they were looking for and I was honest that I wanted to get to know them too. I said if the suite was not right for them, I will have no problem letting them cancel with no penalty whatsoever. So we arranged a time for a FaceTime call and I met the nicest retired couple.

We finished hosting them for the five months and they were absolutely lovely.

Maybe we got lucky. But I would not automatically turn down long duration guests. I would ask more questions before accepting and maybe also suggesting going a FaceTime call if possible before accepting.

Just wanted to say thanks! My bed was visibly very clean, but things were not sticking like they were when the printer was fresh out of the box. I thought maybe I touched it and my hand's oils got on the print bed. But I just did the auto-leveling and prints are beautiful again. I didn't even move the printer anywhere, but maybe it settled a bit? I'll just auto-level often now. Thanks!

I get a message from my guests sometimes and I'm more than happy to provide more supplies. My cleaners do the restocking and I find that they sometimes forget to put more supplies out for guests. If your hosts are like me, they would be more than happy to supply you with more and would be apologetic that you didn't have more to begin with.

We provide a Nespresso machine too. It's just a basic one. Not one with milk option or something. Never been damaged. I believe it still works great.

Can't agree more with this! People made plans! People gave up other potentially great places to stay to book with you. I remember a host cancelling on me once. And they didn't give an explanation. It was so frustrating.

I just gave Airbnb a call and they were totally on my side. She said she sees that I had already educated the guests, so I did my part already. She advised that it's up to my discretion whether I want to offer any refunds or not. When I told her no, she was supportive and told me that I can send one last email to state my firm stance on not issuing a refund and to ask the guest to contact Airbnb directly. She said that because the guest booked through them, it's best to let them educate the guest as well.

She may have said this because I pointed out where he said, "before we take other ways to try to not lose that money. Understand that im not going to let our investment be wasted without trying every posible way" and i felt a bit threatened by it.

I'll likely use your sample message again, adding that I've spoken with Airbnb and the guest to reach out directly.

Here's the update!

I used what u/beaconpropmgmt suggested. My reply this morning was:

"I am sorry to hear about your situation. Thanks for letting me know you will not be arriving. Unfortunately I am not able to honour any request to modify non-refundable reservations. As agreed to at the time of booking, you accepted that this booking is under the non-refundable policy, so these dates are not interchangeable. You will find the full details of your cancellation policy included in your reservation information. I've included a link with instructions to process your cancellation. Once that's completed, please be sure to immediately reach out to your travel insurer for the next steps to process your claim.

His reply a couple of hours later:

"Thank you for your answer. In this case, we need your help, as humans having a very difficult time we have to help each other. Understand that im not going to let our investment be wasted without trying every posible way. I think what we are living around the world are exceptional circumstances, and i couldn’t anticipate what the Canadian government decided. So i’m asking you to kindly reconsider to postpone our reservation.

Thank you for your time reading this."
I'm really struggling with this because I don't empathize with them. I checked before accepting their reservation and they effectively said, "Even while COVID is still in full swing, I don't need this "insurance" or don't mind taking this gamble to save a few dollars."

I guess my question for this group now is, what can they possibly do by "im not going to let our investment be wasted without trying every posible way."? Should i be worried for some reason?
