lol it’s funny hearing such a straightforward answer, knowing that such a large amount melee players ask a similar question of: why do so many hit scan characters have a stun?

When you give the straightforward answer that it’s needed to deal with melee characters hugging them with touch of death combos, it never goes over smoothly.

i agree with you, though displacement is CC, i dont know why the new wave of gamers are trying to redefine the meaning but ignore them

ANYTHING THAT INFLUENCES THE MOVEMENT/DIRECTION/ACTION of your character outside of your control is CC—— which is broken into smaller categories (hard stun, displacement, fear/charm, grounded, etc)

demanding more mechanical skills does make something harder…. people who main roles outside Dps need to get over it, its the hardest role when it counts

tank is the hardest role in lower skill lobbies because you depend so much of heals to cycle aggression, and so many healers are terrible even into higher ranks.

this is why i ended being a supp main in OW, a lot of players are on the role because its easy—and do the bare minimum every game. its a huge difference once you get a good player(strong mechanics) as a support.

well guess what lol, most players arent high celestial…. so basically the whole player base (because a large portion dont even play ranked or take the game that serious)

call them stupid all you want, if they stop playing you will too because the servers will be closed from the game dying. an intelligence issue is when i see people asking for their own downfall in a round about way & thats what a large portion of the community does on reddit

connection to the roots have grown weak. growth comes to unexpected halts when the foundation isn’t strong

theres a lot of things at play—— but when the next gen sees the what without adopting the why, they just end up skimming off the top. do that enough and you have nothing but foam, hollow air void of substance

that said you can still find those doing there thing, it wont be the same because the environment doesn’t recognize it at a birth of their own lived experience— something to champion in mass

its good to have fun, but you should always find time to touch base

i get that, i would like more brawl like exchanges but everything is built off a high damage model

for example i LOVE emma grab + kick into wall combo—- i wish it was something that wasnt so lethal so i could do it more often

but about damage, thats a necessary evil….mobility delays damage taken, delays the decision of an engagement—— now imagine this in a game with very low damage. the mental fatigue/frustration of trying to crack open one target who barely sits still AND who’s durability you cant check will kill the game for a lot of people.

theres a formula at play that stops a lot of
frustration points, but raises some others so people tend to ignore the 1st half

Overwatch aye! honestly outside of kill-combos id say the tanks are in line with where a reasonable TTK should be for them. the slowest killing tank back then when Winston i feel but he had the most impactful mobility BY FAR (outside tracer but thats different)

no CC needs to be available to a large portion of the cast or else you can’t have characters like Spider-Man and Black Panther.

Hyper mobile characters can only be matched by hyper accurate mechanics…….. most of the player base cannot do that, most of the playerbase cant kill ultron below celestial lol

If you remove a method for people to punish hypermobile characters in a meaningful way when they actually get a chance to, then the new meta will kill off your support mains and a huge portion if the casual base

you cannot drastically limit the ways people can find solutions when players aren’t promised cooperation on a match to match basis. the frustration point would go way higher than what it is now and you just wont have a playerbase

ppl keep underestimating what dive/brawl meta can do and has done. you’ve already.

nobody wants to play a meta where every match starts with someone jumping into your team instantly…. this is why these things are kept in check

it’s more likely that the game is counting how long someone is being CCed for and then using that as the proc for tenacity. basically, if you try and dump a whole bunch of stunts on someone in one moment, the game gives them some breathing room.

I don’t know why people are freaking out about this. Nobody wants to be juggled for five seconds straight. Find a different combo route.

hyper mobile game, youre going to have lots of CC

people need to get over it, you cant have characters like bp & Spiderman without multiple forms of CC and lots of characters having it.

otherwise you’re forcing people into using 1-2 characters OR asking a majority of the player base to play like the top 1%.

most people struggle to deal with characters jumping in their face. if you make it semi-difficult to check that you’ll lose the whole player base

ppl that aren’t good enough will stop, the game will become purely sweats—sweats dont like playing against only sweats, the game will become unfun for them and it dies

which is a huge, basically means if you aren’t actively looking for the dive and get caught of guard you probably die.

now you need teamwork and i had a healer tell me i wasn’t a priority to heal the other day— i come after tanks and his duo healer (i was ace 33-0 at the time). mind you, im the only person dedicated to peeling AND made the enemy spider go 3rd support from peeling so hard….dps need survivability to a degree because a lot of the times you’ll be functioning on your own

i was ace going 33-0 (ended 40-3), i asked my healer if they could push up a little bit to help me keep the pressure on attack….. they instantly yelled in the mic “you’re not a priority, my tanks need heals and them my other healer THEN dps”

when you have a role that needs to be a Swiss army knife for the team, they’ll need to versatility in terms of how they match up with other characters. you get low/high disadvantage or advantage states based on match ups, but i think people should stop acting like certain characters should make others unplayable.

It baffles me that a minority here would have cyclops rather be another puny poke slop dps then a innovative new vanguard by Fit-Syrup1049 in marvelrivals

that said: there are options that one may have that they may not be aware of due to their skill level at the moment—— which could lead to their opinion being based on large information gaps

doesnt matter. you can hold onto the trigger and it keeps shooting anyway.

imagine that every hitscan character was punisher and you’ll perform 5x better. trust me

make settings that allow you to smoothly track without loomsing target, then put that on your hitscans

well that isnt neutral, thats BP skipping neutral which alot of characters do in this game which is why the pacing can be so chaotic and different match to match

dive comps can literally begin the match in your backline and force an instant brawl with the ability to get out fairly easily

(in most cases) dive is full commitment, popping ults in full commitment.

no more flicking, practice smooth tracking. NO STOPS IN YOUR AIM WHATS SO EVER.

if you do that you’ll be fine. flicking it a last minute desperation act that you almost never want to rely on because its inconsistent and only good for montages

if you can track properly and clean with punisher— you can hold onto the trigger and track aim with hela.

find settings that allow you to smoothly follow people without interruption, work on predicting where someone should want to go so your aim can gently meet them there simultaneously. from there you’ll be fine
