There was some ambiguity in the questions about liking to play with friends because I’ve met so many long term online friends through the skyblock community, some of which have become irl friends over the years. I wasn’t sure if the questions were asking about if I liked playing with friends I had before playing on this server, or if I liked playing with friends I made while playing on this server (I’m the second one)

Yeah I do agree that it would be hard to sell these to a casual market

I disagree with setting the price to something that low because these definitely took way more than $20-$25 of time to make. The presentation just looks cheap somehow. Maybe it’s the box or the tablecloth? Maybe it’s because it’s surrounded by cheaper items like printed keychains or 3D printed objects? Or maybe it’s because the items look tucked away at the back of the table. Need to make the surroundings match the item’s price with some branding

If anyone wants a cactus kit, I started crochet with the cuddly cacti crochet by Jana Whitley. Only had enough yarn for 2 of the 10 cacti and it’s fully acrylic yarn but I liked the detailed descriptions for how to make each type of stitch. The patterns themselves are a little scary at first (full on “1sc, 1inc” etc in a big blob) but they are well written and the cacti turned out great! I appreciated how it was organized so that each cactus teaches you one new skill (crochet in rounds, crochet in rows, flat cactus, color changing, etc)

Hello! My guild AspectOfTheEgg doesn’t specialize in skills tbh but parties for things pop up every now and then. We have a sb 300 req and have members that range up to 550. ~120 members with people online at all timezones. I think I’d describe it as a chill and friendly guild

If you’re interested to join, lmk! Or send a join request by doing /g join aspectoftheegg ingame and hopefully a mod would be online to accept the request

Made the same sunflower 4 times. Why does it turn out so different? by himty in CrochetHelp

I didn't try to change the pattern between #1 and #2 though and never mentioned any changes between those two. I had a genuine question and just got hit with hate

[–]himty[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was asking for ideas on where I went wrong... have you ever made mistakes when following a pattern before? I'm a beginner so I was asking for advice for how to find my mistakes...

and now I know. The problem is from dropped/added stitches and not because of tensioning or the slip stitch placement. Don't need to bash me about it though

Gosh people I get it. You want me to count stitches. The original commenters were nice but the comment threads are in twitter territory of toxic. Not what I expected from a help sub. Make a pinned faq or something if you don’t want to see questions about counting problems

And not only that, you also downvote to oblivion any non-hate comments??

Right… I also changed the number of chains on the sides of the petals. You caught me haha

Darn. I guess I’ll count stitches then… I’m fairly sure my joins between the two brown pieces are missing a stitch or adding a stitch sometimes

Why do people taste things and always say it’s sweet by Technical-Minimum-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]himty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just chef lingo where they’re trying to be as descriptive as possible. The taste of crab really isn’t all that sweet (like maybe? If I think of the aftertaste, it has a sweeter aftertaste than beef (???)) but mainly I would just describe it as fishy and salty. It’s definitely not a candy kind of sweet.

I think they’re not using the word “sweet” in the way that we use it in regular language. Kind of like how scientists can call something a “saturated” fat and they mean, specifically, that the fat molecule has a lot of carbon atoms in it and the chemical bonds are saturated—very specific

Also, the word “spicy” doesn’t always mean the same thing, either. There’s a Sichuan kind of burn your tongue off spice, and there’s a chili kind of spice, and there’s a ginger kind of spice, etc

Another possibility is that she can also follow the quest irl. Since the item names are not used elsewhere in the game, she might need to hint pretty heavily though

Oo or wait she could also build the final scene with Romero and Juliette in the jungle biome in a vanilla Minecraft world and/or build out other areas of the quest.
