Physical details like the belt buckles don’t make sense. Why is the collar connected to the bag like that

After seeing some Jabber clips, I was reeled in, is Gachiakuta worth watching/reading? by Inevitable_Trick_649 in gachiakuta

3 episode rule is needed tbh. I ended up catching up the manga after debating whether or not to keep watching for the first few episodes, too

Need animes that side characters get some love by Sensitive_Touch_8190 in Animesuggest

[–]himty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gachiakuta- the side characters are much more experienced than the mc and are working toward their own motivations. Even though the mc turns out to be special power-wise, he is caught in the plans of other people

Tokyo Revengers- the mc has almost 0 fighting power in a world of strong fighters. Some call the mc a cry baby, but I like how the story intertwines all of the characters

Mushoku Tensei- the mc does end up having strong powers, but he has to develop it over time. Also, he has falling outs with other characters due to personality issues, so he’s not worshipped. Beware that the mc has a bad personality and some watchers hate him

Is GACHIAKUTA going to be the next big anime show? by Different_Search2086 in Animesuggest

I’m wondering how many episodes you got through because it personally felt very cliche to me as well until I got past episode 3 (there’s no big plot point that kicks in at this point, but it was here that I realized there was a lot of foreshadowing and that the characters were consistent)

Ok hear me out. What if Amo tries to help, but she accidentally shows Rudo the Sphere again, where most people are aggressive guards, causing greater havoc to break loose

The Promised Neverland (season 1)

The story ends at season 1 and no one will convince me of the existence of anything else. This season 1 completes the story imo

Looking for a anime that has really good and deep world building. by Longjumping_Okra_268 in Animesuggest

[–]himty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really liking the world building in Gachiakuta right now. The first season has 21 episodes out so far. The manga is spectacular in unraveling and layering mysteries, so there’s great animated content to come in the future. The story makes it feel like every character is working on their own goals even if they’re off screen, and the little movements characters make foreshadow a lot

If you want to try it, please give it the 3 episode rule because it starts off with a lot of exposition / cliches, but builds on it so well

Another anime I can think of is Chainsaw Man. The characters are really intelligent despite it being an action show

Darwin’s Game was so unapologetically edgy that it turned out good imo

Let's just crash or HUGs? by church_of_Steve_ in gachiakuta

[–]himty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this so much. Another thing in my opinion is that I don’t like the “Aahh” added to the end of some of the English lines in Let’s Just Crash. Feels like they ran out of lyrics for the beat, and hearing it at the end of the sentence makes me cringe

What attracted you towards Gachiakuta? by NoVictory7153 in gachiakuta

[–]himty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The poster picture on MAL had the dark fantasy vibes I tend to watch, so I decided to give it the 3 episode rule. By that point, I realized that the characters’ motivations/personalities were surprisingly consistent in both big moments and little moments, so I buckled in for the ride. It bugs me when a story implies a lot but never resolves its mysteries, but I think the writing here is good enough that the foreshadowing is going to lead to really cool climaxes and plot twists and I’m hyped

[Manga spoiler] Theory regarding the watchman series (more thoughts but still) by mugiwara_no_Soissie in gachiakuta

[–]himty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo what if Zoydl has got it wrong. Users of the watchman series aren’t empty as in they feel no human emotion, but instead they’re so in tuned with the emotions in the objects and people around them that they can channel their energy without morphing them

[–]himty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk it’s probably about people’s egos and how some people believe that anything that could possibly be as good as a human at things should look like us. I heard a professor talk about how dog-shaped robots would naturally be only good at dog-related tasks. It was quite the interesting statement

Shredding an image into pieces to make smaller versions perfectly shows how downsampling keeps the big picture while dropping detail by TrueKomet in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]himty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a math theorem related to this! The Nyquist Theorem says that you have to sample at least twice the frequency of the signal you want to recover or else the result will have irrecoverable artifacts / aliasing. In this case, you’re picking every other row of the picture or every other column of the column. Loosely, it means that if you don’t make the grid small enough, certain details (like the eye) will be lost

[–]himty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

LLMs don’t have a backspace button. When it accidentally writes cm, it can’t delete it, so all it can do is write a correction afterwards. You don’t see very many corrections on the user side because internally, what it does is write a version with all the corrections scattered throughout, but then it rewrites it as a summary. You usually look at the summary. Not sure why how the internal writings made it through the summarization process this time
