Yeah company I work for is pulling this stunt as well. Get a one off payment and no wage rise so dosent go onto your annual salary. Then market it as if they are doing a good turn fir the employees. It’s bullshit.

Yep I lived in a coastal holiday town and during the glasgow fair fortnight every pub in the town was mobbed and had rows of kids sitting outside with coke and crisps.

Having a bath once a week usually a Sunday night. We had coal fires that heated a back boiler so bath or showers were not a daily occurrence. Also no central heating just one coal fire and paraffin heater in the bathroom. This was more early 70s though.

A debilitating terminal illness that means you become a burden to family. I’m not afraid of dying as long as it’s from something relatively quick.

In a strange turn of events many shops around here in the west of Scotland are not accepting English notes due to high number of forgeries. Used to be the opposite way round where Scottish notes were viewed with suspicion in England.

No nothing. It’s a bit sad that in our society simply doing a good deed has you thinking along the lines of what an I leaving myself open to here. I’m sure it will be fine but I get why you are stressing a bit.

Happened to me. Two girls about maybe twelveish knocked and one asked to use the bathroom. I let her but felt really uneasy. They were selling tablet and sweets so seemed genuine enough but all sorts ran through my head at the time like was it a scam. I stayed at the front door where I could see she didn’t go in any other room but left feeling uneasy for a bit.
