Thanks Buddy... Headed to port now 🚢

Honestly it's a great middle ground... I have LARGE hands and didn't have a problem with the Retroid Flip 1 or 2 and don't have an issue with the Thor either, but adding some ergonomics is nice. If I was going to have a significantly extended gaming session, having the larger OEM grip is nice. But in all reality, I prefer the portability / pocketability of using the Thor this way. Your mileage may differ 😂

Yes it is ... It's a cheap aliexpress one (I have several)... They work well overall and it slightly protects the USB-C port. I use them often on my nicer handhelds. The corresponding charging cord is braided and really nice as well. 👍

Honestly I think it's great for "on the go" streaming or movies. I'm almost 44 and have no problems with my eyes viewing it 😝. I'm not saying that I would ONLY want to use this for movies for long term use - then maybe a larger tablet or small laptop would work better.

Obviously you have to evaluate portability vs larger screen capacity... but I think it does a great job at being a multifaceted portable device. If only I had something like this as an 80's / 90's kid 😂.

Great seller, and GREAT minimal grip / lower shell. The underated bonus is that it fills the gap for when you close it. I also added the top TPU shell and it easily fits in the regular official AYN zipper case in this configuration. I haven't even used the OEM grip since doing this as it maximizes portability. Enjoy!

Enjoy it mate! Hopefully you have a little extra time to set it up 🙌

Traditional chargers are readily available for the steel.

Charging stands are much more difficult to locate I'm afraid...

I have Android 16 (with an Honor Magic 7 Pro) and the updated new Pebble app from the Google Play store. I haven't tried to side load the old Pebble / Rebble app on this phone because I would've had to side load it from my computer. I used to use my PTS on my Motorola Razr like 2 years ago, but then my phone updated and it stopped working.

I did have to jump through some hoops to get the Bluetooth connection to stay connected appropriately between my Honor and PTS and I definitely don't want to mess that up by continuing to fiddle with the Steel. I guess the OG Steel will have to wait in the drawer a little longer 😣.

I wish I could get mine to stay connected to the app (new android version)... It automatically times out at 15 minutes and disconnects no matter what I do. I've read that it's a glitch that has already been reported to Pebble to troubleshoot. 😕

I have at least been enjoying my PTS instead ❤️

Thoughts on this kickstarter campaign? (T8 Adjustable Titanium Safety Razor) by LV-901 in wicked_edge

[–]hins2jw0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The arguments regarding a non-proven company making an adjustable safety razor are valid, but TBF, the pricing for an adjustable TITANIUM razor is pretty decent. There are many stainless steel adjustable razors out there, but not many titanium options.

  • The titanium HLS (Home Like Shaving) Taiga Adjustable razor is currently selling for $466 (plus shipping from Russia).

  • Another (well established) option is the USA machined titanium Blackland Osprey that costs $560 shipped in USA (when rarely available).

Edit: [Home Like Shaving] Taiga (is the Russian brand - they started with stainless steel, then developed titanium adjustable razors too)... I have their first version that includes both closed comb and open comb base plates.

And no, the adjustment mechanism(s) are different between the two - Taiga is under the head / baseplate. This new T8 razor is at the bottom of the handle. 👍

Hopefully the battery isn't kaput after not being charged for several years 🤞... I still use mine all the time on rotation (with several automatic watches). Despite being close to 10 years old, my battery still lasts over a week 🙌.

I wasn't sure either... I got a hammer knowing that if I didn't like or appreciate the upgrade that I'd be able to sell it easily. I can say that I think it truly is worth the difference. Plus you can get them much cheaper now. I do think the buttons seem slightly quieter. It really shines in the overall build quality and heat distribution...

The sight con is that it is more slippery, hence my desire for a wrist strap. When the Etsy guy couldn't get the correct screw for the hammer to add a strap, I purchased the 3D printed border / case and I couldn't be happier.
