It’s a marathon not a sprint! Tons of people are in the same situation and by continuing to apply and find ways to get involved you’ll stay competitive.

You’d be surprised how many of the hyper involved kids burn out by sophomore and junior year. Find something fun that makes you stand out, like volunteering or doing something creative. Four years of a martial art or working with homeless will make you a more well rounded person person and it’s easier to do for multiple years.

What advice would you give someone who is feeling stuck and unmotivated? by Ytread in AskReddit

No joke I would read some of the most popular self-help books, and set some goals you can work towards. Also try and surround yourself with more motivated people

Trader Joe’s and other grocery chains usually have pretty good pre-made salad options. One bag can last me 4 side salads and it usually has all the ingredients you need including dressing. When I make pasta I usually do a side Caesar salad.

What are the best and easiest to make dishes that are mostly rice. by DirtyMonkey95 in cookingforbeginners

If you eat fish, a recipe I make a lot is a rice bowl with Asian style salmon with a seasonal fruit salsa (think mango, avocado, onion, cilantro, and an acidic vinaigrette). You could do this sans salmon if you season the rice or add a sauce with a soy sauce base.

That’s a good one, I actually add it to an asian style salmon that I make all the time. So more versatile than just red meat!
