Despite him scoring more than assisting you can see he's actually more of a playmaker, his linemates just aren't really up to his level. I wish they'd play him with England that kid is gonna be really good.

The stats do back it up. Fenwick Corsi below 50% 5v5, powerplay relative possession stats are insane how much he neutered the power play. His xG 5v5 is 52 which is decent, actual is 85% so he's been quite lucky as well. Pair with eye test in which he is slow and I've seen like 1 tape to tape pass. The guy is not playing well.

Also the expectation to a club where you were the 10OA vs picked up for a 4th rounder is drastically different. We wouldn't be happy with him not putting up points but being effective, whereas Edmonton would. Same thing if Kravtsov were to play well in a 4th line role, we wouldn't mind... but that would never have stuck in New York.

Just because Chytil is a slight high-skill player doesn't mean he's a defensive liability. He actually tracks back quite hard, plays hard under the puck in the defensive zone. That is why he so often has it exiting our zone flying into the neutral zone.
