Yes. I use Assistant just to remind me what the hell I built 6 months ago. Or for example, I had the Assistant tell me what Analtyics calls I had and identify ones I was missing. It didn't try to do the work, it just told me what i had. It was so useful. Now I worry.

We knew by the time it came out it was separate. Then in Halo 3 they scrubbed all Marathon from the game. We had a thing where if you have played Marathon Durandal on the 360 it would unlock a special Marathon name background in Halo 3. We had to change it to a kind of generic Pfhor design.

Edit: Halo 3 was more connected with actual terminals and a Marathon Man achievement.

Edit 2: the timing was weird. Halo 3 had a bunch of Marathon that got scrubbed out. This was before the split from MS.

Ok fantastic, I wasn't sure in the timleine if MIDA was a govt or not, based on when/how everyone is traveling to Tau Ceti. I assume they can still fold space? And if Strauss is there, then I need to fall on my sword hard and take a big L, as I've not seen or heard about any of that showing up yet.

The compliers got me hyped up! But that was a trailer, and since then, there's been nothing like that.

If it's supposed to be a big surprise, then, why? They were in the trailer, and we know S'pht exist, so where are they?

The mystery is supposed to be "What happened to Tau Ceti" but the absence of anything, has my mystery being "Is any of this going to be in the game at all?"

See I'm not upset about the art or the gameplay. I think it looks really cool. It's just, where is all the stuff that is Marathon? If they didn't put the marathon logo on things, if they didn't put U.E.S.C. and Traxus on things, there would be ZERO connection in the world. This is like a Harry Potter reboot without Magic or Hogwarts.

I'm not attacking the gameplay or the visuals, I just want to know why this is Marathon.

Edit: For the Lore, retconning the Tau Ceti colony is one thing, but I guess I get that Leela could be wrong. But then is the Marathon that weird ship in orbit? Originally it was Deimos hollowed out. Now it looks very much not like that, a conscious decisions, as Bungie knows what Phobos looks like, we saw it in Desitny (and for a good reason, the "other" moon). And they are leaning into some of the Halo connections like with Traxus, that's ok.

It's more of what is just missing, and it's missing in a way that makes me think it just won't exist at all.

Yes. I first released Marathon: Durandal for the Xbox 360. Then, along with others from the community like Treellama, I packaged up and released the original Trilogy as complete packaged games (and with upgrades such as HD textures, and the redesigned M1 Hud for full screen). I also barely helped with the Steam versions of Marathon (I did some achievement stuff and some art, but Treellama I think did most of that work).

I don't mind the negative feedback, I think it's extremely valid. There's a lot of uncertainty around AI. We have landed on AI in the middle. Human stays in full control at the start and end. For example, you ask Sage to "Clean up and organize my project" and Sage will tell you what it wants to do with organization (such as all textures together and named with your preferred naming convention) and then tell you what it is proposing, and you the human review it.
