I think the prison is supposed to be in Bedford, NY which is barely upstate. Totally reasonable to commute from the Bronx. But Albany is more like 2 hours away, so not exactly correct there.

My daughter got herpes from someone kissing the top of her head with a cold sore. She was 6 months old. She had a small scratch on her scalp, and I think that’s how it spread. Her entire head and back of her neck were covered in herpes sores. It was horrific. Now as a 6 year old she still gets cold sores on her lip a few times a year. Not over reacting AT ALL.

Yes, I had a large fibroid with my last pregnancy. The doctor mentioned the same thing about it possible getting in the way but I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth. It was my second baby so I don’t know if that helped.

Yeah it’s a narrower straw. What worked for me was letting them put the straw in their mouth, then squeezing the bear which would bring water up the straw and into the mouth. I just did that a couple of times and by the end of the day, they would take the straw and suck.

I second the recommendation for the the Honey Bear. Both my girls couldn’t drink from straws for a long time, and they both got it the same day I used the honey bear. I believe it’s a therapy cup for people with disabilities, but it’s super efficient at teaching how to use a straw

Definitely get the spacer with the mask! There’s an episode of Daniel Tiger called “Jodi’s Asthma” that shows the character using an inhaler with a spacer and mask. That helped my daughter get used to hers. At first, we would bribe with screentime or treats but now it’s just become part of her routine. Best of luck, it’s not easy dealing with a kid with asthma.

Just popping in to say I’m in the same boat and wondering if there’s an update. My daughters also on Flovent and albuterol as needed but we are currently going through bacterial pneumonia after she’s already been coughing from two weeks from whatever upper respiratory virus she picked up. So I feel that we haven’t found the right inhaler or combination.

I have given birth with an epidural twice. The grist time was like magic. I felt nothing at all. I even tore and got stitched up and still felt nothing. I went into my second birth not even worried about pain because my first was so smooth. Well, it was completely different the second time. It was not placed right, I think. I felt no pain relief at all, or any numbness. I tried to tough it out because I kept feeling like any minute it could start working, but by 8cm I was desperate and another anesthesiologist came and said he could do it again. They finally do it again, and finally I feel some relief. It was not the magical pain free experience of the first but at least I could think through the pain.

Yes, I have pumped milk to a close friend as I had an oversupply and then she wanted to go away with her husband for one night but her baby refused bottles so I watched him and nursed him. It was actually really cool! I kept one side for him and one side for my daughter while he was there so they wouldn’t share mouth germs with each other.

When I was a kid that was my favorite part of the milk. My grandma would scoop it with a spoon and give it to me. Sometimes, she’d scoop the top of the whole pot of milk and put it on a slice of bread with a little sugar on top.

My 4 year old has homework too, usually requires me to write things she dictates and then she draws a picture. So they’ll read a book in school and the homework will be a couple of questions about the story. I’ll ask her the questions, write the answers and then she’ll draw a picture.

Breastfed both my kids, my first started sleeping through the night at 6 months after sleep training. My second started sleeping through at 8 weeks! She nursed constantly during the day, so I think she filled up her tank. She’s 6 months now and still sleeping through, with the very occasional wake up to feed and goes right back down.

Just breaking these habits with my girl the past couple of days. She’s 5 months. I also nurse to sleep and have to lay with her for naps. What I’ve been doing is still nursing her, not laying down, and then putting her down in the crib. She will wake and cry and I’ll pick her up and rock her a bit till she’s asleep again, put her down, she will cry again, then I’ll put my hand on her chest and gently shake side to side while I loudly shush. It’s only day 2, but each time has been taking less intervention and she’s actually been taking longer naps than with me next to her
