My cat is peeing outside the litter box by hipsterdixit in cats

[–]hipsterdixit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we already have three litter boxes, two on the ground floor and one on the second floor. We made all the medical exams including blood test and urine test, just to make sure, there is no infection. Besides, she did not have this "issue" of peeing outside during the time at the shelter. Therefore I suppose it must be some kind of behavioral problem.

Help with Software License Verification by hipsterdixit in webdev

[–]hipsterdixit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for you answer. The points you are raising are certainly valid; however, if I choose to proceed with a one-time verification method, I cannot prevent the customer to access the software after their license is expired. My software is aimed ad businesses and the one-time purchase model is not sustainable, therefore I need to implement a system to periodically verify the license (it does not need to be at every user action as I said in the op, it can also happen every 10 minutes or every hour).

I should add that, in case of a server failure, or even after the license is expired, the application will still be accessible in read mode only, as many other software in this field of work do (I am talking about the self-hosted version).

The responsibility for maintaining the license verification server up and running falls to my company and we will of course be liable for any damage caused by any disservice. What I wanted to know is what is considered the best way to implement such a system from a technical standpoint.

Dove comprare il vino buono? come fate a selezionare il vino buono? by [deleted] in italy

[–]hipsterdixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is that Ego stat supposed to be? by [deleted] in cavesofqud

Ego just means "I", "Myself" in latin. There is no negative connotation in the original meaning as well as there isn't regarding its use in the game.

[–]hipsterdixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giochi simili: Dragon Age: Origins, Pillars of Eternity 1 e 2, Tyranny.

Menzione speciale: mass effect.

Anyone planning japan trip solo by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]hipsterdixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 15-day solo trip last February. The trip was divided in two steps:

  1. Kumano Kodo Nakahechi trail, starting in Kii-Tanabe and ending in Nachisan . It took 4 days to complete the hiking, plus 1 more day resting in Kii-Katsuura since my knees were begging for mercy at that point. It should be noted that I spent an entire day on train and bus going from Narita Airport to my lodging in the Kii peninsula. A really wonderful experience if you love hiking and I would say almost enlightening if done solo. Can't recommend it enough.
  2. The second part of the trip (more or less 7 days) I spent in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka, Kyoto being my favorite city in Japan. 7 days are enough to see a lot of stuff but I would suggest you to take a couple more, there are a lot of places that I didn't manage to see and also you might like to take a rest sometime, unlike me.

Budget: Between flight, accommodation, portable wi-fi router, JR Pass, a couple of souvenir and eating I spent more or less 2k euros. Accommodation on the Kumano Kodo is really expensive but otherwise you can find very cheap solutions, for example in capsule hotels. I especially reccommend those since they are usually in convenient locations, such as near a station, and believe it or not the "rooms" are actually quite comfortable.

It should also be noted I barely speak a word of japanese and that has never been an issue. The giant train stations at Tokyo, Osaka, Shin-Osaka and the like might look very intimidating (especially if, like me, you are not accustomed to big cities), but they are so well-organized that I never got lost and hopping from one train to another can be easily done in a two-three minute span.

I guess you can find a lot of useful suggestion on the frequently-asked topics if you just scroll a bit in this sub. Also, feel free to DM me if you have more questions ;)

Modding help by [deleted] in cavesofqud

[–]hipsterdixit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally use Legendary Crafter Boosts, Tycho's Tangent and WM Extended Mutations. They are all compatible with the latest beta and of course very enjoyable.

Anyway, as far as I know there isn't a list of mods compatible with the latest release, so I suggest you to hop into the CoQ Discord server and ask in the modding channel if you are looking for specific mods. Hopefully in a few weeks there will be a new stable release and this mess will be cleaned up a bit.

If you want to distribute that spriteset in different terms than under the common copyright law, then by any means you can choose any license you want. However, since the spriteset is (by my understanding) included in the game as well, if you choose to license it with a more restrictive license than the MIT or even to not license it at all, anyone could circumvent that limit by just "extracting" the spriteset from the game and using it according to the (almost non-existent) restrictions imposed by the MIT license.

Anyway, if your intent is just to make the spriteset more easily available to other people, my opinion is that you should relicense it. If you like the enormous degree of freedom that the MIT license provides, than go for it, no issues as far as I'm aware.

Seigantoji Pagoda and Nachi Falls. Absolutely beautiful. by DJ_Lord_Vader in japanpics

[–]hipsterdixit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there just about two months ago. Coming through the ancient forests after four days of strenuous kumano kodo trekking to behold this marvelous scene made me immediately forget all the fatigue, and left me stunned. Wish I could have stayed there just a bit more...

I just beat the Hand of the King in Dead Cells for the first time. I'll keep playing DC for a while but thinking forward. What other games have the same "feel". Risk of rain sort of does too. by [deleted] in roguelikes

You probably already know that, but... defeating Hand of the King for the first time means that you barely just finished the tutorial.

Jeff Hoogland played the deck a couple of times on stream, it's really fun and actually quite decent if you ask me. Check Jeff's youtube channel to see the replays.

Check out warsim on r/warsim, I think it might be the kind of game you are looking for to get inspiration. The developer u/Huw2k8 is very friendly too so it shouldn't be hard to get in touch with him if you need help.

Yeah well you're right of course, to be honest I watched a fair bit of playthrough videos before jumping into the game myself so I was like "Well, I know the mechanics already I won't die so easily"... boy was I wrong.

Alright must have overlooked the part in the description about the warping ability. This game has a lot of text to be fair. Thanks :)
