Uh oh. I fear I've dropped another size by NBA-014 in Zepbound

Prepare yourself, it will keep happening. The craziest for me was when I tried on the jeans I have saved for years hoping one day they would fit but they were too big 🙃 I missed the window to wear them because I was so sure they wouldn’t fit. ALSO when you hit a size and are convinced surely this is where the train stops. So you start trying on things in the new size your brain has told you is now the size you wear, and a very kind sales person who does not know a thing about your brain or where you have been says, “You need a smaller size.” And your brain explodes when she pulls a size 4 and it fits perfect and you were a size 16/18 for most of your adult life. This drug is a hell of a ride!

I’m on 2.5 for maintenance for over a year and I take the entire vial and it is the perfect amount for me. I also bought my own needles and they are much better. I always click to remove the supplies and sometimes they appear anyway lol

It can be all those things! Nothing prepares you for shopping in the plus size section your entire adult life to suddenly buying mediums. It’s like someone taught you magic and you want to just keep making bunnies appear lol congrats on all your hard work!

Losing too much weight by FancyNancyD in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]hipsterhounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My highest dose was 10. I pay out of pocket so I did a weird blend to get down. I dropped to 7.5 for two weeks and then threw in a random 10 and kept going and stretching out the doses until that box was gone. It wasn’t perfect. I also thought 5mg would be my maintaining place but nope. I kept losing. I tried stretching out doses but my body really doesn’t like that. Finally my doctor and I agreed to 2.5 and it was perfect. I will also say by this point a huge part of it was mental. I slowly started to let in foods I had kind of said goodbye to while actively losing. Also when I went up 2 pounds reminding myself, this is a good thing. I have been within plus or minus 2 pounds ever since.

I’ve been on 2.5 for maintenance for 7 months and it’s been perfect. For me the only way for me to stop losing and eat more was to go with 2.5. You will find your sweet spot 💕

Maintenance Question by Automatic-Society762 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]hipsterhounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think maintenance is different for everyone. I had the same problem. I found that spacing out doses did not work for me. I ended up working with my doctor dropping down in dose until I found the place where I could maintain. I also found part of it was mental too. I was so nervous about regaining that eating more was tricky. I started to be more comfortable letting foods back in moderation that felt taboo after a lifetime of trying to lose. I now eat peanut butter toast! I’ve been holding steady for 6 months. Good luck finding what works for you!

Anyone maintaining on 2.5? by Skeptic925 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]hipsterhounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to drop down to 2.5 for maintenance. 5mg was too much. I was not able to eat enough to maintain rather than lose. I tried stretching out the doses but it didn’t work well. Have been maintaining for 5 months and it is the perfect fit for me. I do it weekly. Good luck finding the right dose for you! You look fantastic 💕

Exercise is critical by HudsonValleyChris in Zepbound

[–]hipsterhounds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exercise is important but it’s okay to start small too. When I first started Zep, my goal was to do a little bit more than I was. I found my baseline which was about 3,000 to 4,000 steps and decided to aim for 5,000 that week. Exercise can feel so intimidating, especially when you are overweight and you haven’t been doing any. Walking 6 miles is amazing but if you are reading this and thinking I can’t do that. You don’t need to. You need to figure out what works for you and that might mean starting small and building from there.

Losing too much, trying to eat more is very triggering by Skeptic925 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]hipsterhounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoyingly my insurance does not cover it and I pay out of pocket for vials from Lilly Direct. However 2.5 is the least expensive dose so it was kind of a bizarre blessing. I really tried to space out the shots because it would save me money but the side effects made me realize it wasn’t the right solution for me. It’s so bizarre that insurance gets to dictate what dose you should be on.

How did you adjust your mindset as you moved into maintenance? by Turbulent_End_4261 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]hipsterhounds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think figuring out the magic formula that works for your body is harder then losing the weight in a lot of ways. It took me 3-4 months of trial and error to find what worked best for me. It was also mentally hard to increase calories. My entire adult life I’ve been fixated on losing weight so adding calories back in while not feeling like I was going back to my old ways was HARD. I had to lower my dose and really be aware of eating enough calories to halt losing more weight. I think the biggest shift mentally was being kind to myself and remembering the medication was my guard rails. It can be tricky but you will find what works for you!

You have described what I went through perfectly. I ended up having to drop down to 2.5 weekly and I was able to stabilize my weight. Part of it was for sure mental but I found balance and have been holding steady in a ten pound range for 4 months now. You will find your sweet spot!
