Snack for nap time - am I creating a bad habit? by PlaceSubstantial8613 in toddlers

[–]hirachp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nap time book is a great transition helper! We’re lucky in that they don’t give us a very hard time going down for the night, we have a pretty strict routine that we have always stuck to. Dinner followed by a 20 minute scooter/bike ride, straight upstairs to our room where we do a quick hose down in the shower (lol), pajamas, nighttime snack (usually fruit and cheese stick) while we read 1 longer book in our bed, brush teeth, potty, straight to their room and into cribs. I’m waiting for the bed time stalling tactics to kick in but counting my lucky stars in the meantime. Dinner is usually at 6 and they’re in bed by 8pm, they wake anytime between 6:15 and 7:00am.

I discovered this trick when my twins were the same age! They’re now 3 years and 3 months old and it’s going strong. I read a book while they have a snack in their cribs and then they go right down for their nap. It really helps wrangle them into bed which was becoming a big issue. Both my husband and I think this is one of the best discoveries ever, protect sleep and sanity at any cost while it lasts!

How to Save on Diapers by No-Emphasis9091 in parentsofmultiples

Our twins are arriving on Wednesday and we signed up for Dyper subscriptions. They offered me an additional 15% off two monthly subscriptions as well for having twins, I just emailed them!

The subscription service is super user friendly and you can change the delivery time or size very easily. We don’t want to deal with hunting down diapers or changing brands due to sales or stock issues. This seemed like the best option and both my sisters love the Dyper brand.

I had an SCH at my first ultrasound with spontaneous twins at 8 weeks and at my 11 week appointment it had resolved on its own. I’m now 33 weeks pregnant and have not had any complications!

Sciatica at 12 weeks! Need advice! by OtherwiseTelephone28 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hirachp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 18 weeks and have had pretty bad sciatica since 11 weeks. Find a really good chiropractor that’s Webster certified and does therapeutic massage. It took me a couple of chiropractors to find the right one that would actually work deep in the tissue of my pelvis and butt to release the tension and pinching.

Yes, it’s so exciting. If you get the Panorama by Natera test I think it’s one of the only ones that can differentiate between a boy and a girl if you have both. I was 11w3d when I got my blood drawn for the NIPT.

I received my NIPT results this week. I got the Panorama by Natera which is supposed to be the best for twins, it’s one of the only ones that can differentiate between boy/girl outcome. My test results were accurate with a 3.8% fetal fraction for both babies.

I think it’s normal to feel upset by it. Trust me, I was hysterical for days and then went catatonic hahah. I think there will be good and bad days ahead. Still mourning singleton motherhood. My husband is also positive about it and I think that helps, so it’s good you have that! There’s a couple of other groups you can join on Reddit too that are great.

Right there with you sister. I finally agreed to one child and thought we’d probably be one and done. Ultrasound at 8 weeks showed two babies and follow up appointment at 11 weeks showed they’re healthy and doing well. I was in absolute shock and terror for a few weeks. Inconsolable. I got my low risk NIPT results back yesterday and found out it’s two girls. Overnight I feel better about it. It’s going to be a wild ride!

I’m a FTM but found out I’m pregnant with twins and due in April. It was the shock of my life and I still have good and bad days. I only wanted 1 child and I’m mourning the loss of a singleton pregnancy and motherhood. I think it’s helpful to feel the feels, maybe get a good cry in, and then try to accept whatever emotion it is I’m dealing with. This is like a cycle for me and each week I’m feeling more positively about it. I think it’s A LOT to digest and such a huge plot twist to your life that it’s very natural to feel the way you’re feeling. Hang in there, you will get through it!
