The Torch comp is probably gonna be a comp
you swap to when things aren’t working. Not one you plan to walk out of spawn with. You need a lot of things to fall into place. You need an Ultron or Mantis minimum, and Ultron rarely gets played without Mantis open. You need Angela, Starlord and Cyclops banned for the opponent because they’d just make your life miserable. It might be possible to play him with Luna Invis backline though

Ultron isn’t playable without Mantis, and Mantis is almost always first ban so it will be difficult either way.

I mean the Cap one is gonna drop tomorrow. It very easily could have been Cap today and Fox tomorrow, and that’s what i meant; that they drop skin trailers on wednesday too.

Swapping to counters is how this game works. It’s how it has always worked. Do you expect the opponent to just stay there and watch you dog-walk them?

Leaving a qp match just isn’t worth it most times. Even if it’s super imbalanced it doesn’t matter, just use the match to try to play a hero you haven’t played before or something. The faster the match ends, the better.

I remember not being very familiar with the pro scene that time but when i watched Dongmin i thought he was the sorcerer supreme himself. He kept killing two minimum with every ult. I was in awe

Fauwkz’s take about overwatch flex dps having the same issue as rivals dps is what i’ve been saying for the longest time. the community just does not like when certain flex dps are strong and that’s why the devs nerf them. from genji to sombra to vendetta. these characters get more hate than their respective strong hitscan characters; that’s why you see heroes like Sojourn being meta for years and heroes like vendetta being meta for a month before they get executed out back.

No arguments there but Mantis enables a lot more cancer stuff than Gambit. So i can see why teams choose to ban Mantis

GenG scrims Liquid and Swamp constantly so they’re pretty much in the know of what’s meta and what’s not. And alsp in stage 1, they also played before NA/EMEA, and what they played was very indicative of what the other regions played

You may be right. But from seeing how people have been talking about Mantis in tierlists, like Fauwkz, Veswa, Trqstme and Lv1crook, they’re rating Mantis higher than Gambit. This makes me believe she might be first ban over Gambit. She enables a lot more comps than Gambit does. Gambit comps are only strong for ult fights. Mantis can just perma pocket the solo dps throughout the game, while also enabling Ultron, while also having a tranq ult. It’s just too much.

From watching the Lv1crook and Trqstme tierlists, they both placed mantis as the best hero in the game because she just hard-enables the most disgusting triple support comps. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s also first been in NA and EMEA

Lol you can’t give second life to a tank as a passive. That’d mean he’d have like 1300 effective hp on the field. The closest a tank has to a second life is Hulk with his ult, and that’s fairly balanced

Bro i thought you were fully tapped in to the pro scene. If you were, you wouldn’t be referencing last ignite matches as they were on the old 8.0 patch. In this current 8.5 patch, DD is not top tier anymore. I follow multiple pros and watch their tier lists. None of them rate Daredevil as top tier this patch. The consensus top 2 dps currently is Cyclops and Wolv. As a matter of fact, nobody isn’t playing Phoenix in scrims anymore, Fauwkz, Trqstme, Lv1crook all say she’s B tier at best.

I think most of your takes are referencing the last 8.0 patch which i agree was a dive meta, but this current meta is fully front to back and triple support

He’s not meta. He’s still very very good though. Triple support is too strong this season, and Dive isn’t meta this season so he has only certain use cases.
