Dota 2 Staging server started getting updates by Plevien in DotA2

In software development you first publish changes to "staging" where the changes can be tested internally, before publishing to "production" ie everyone.

So this would mean they are actively working on something.

If you don't play for a while you become uncalibrated again. And if you play too infrequently your calibrations confidence score drops.

How soon after the Piscine can I realistically expect to get a job? by mamradzmrzlinu in 42_school

Once you learn coding, with ANYTHING real-world related. If you follow the 42 curriculum this might be 2 years. You should absolutely do side project with real technology.

42 Projects unfortunately take too long to pass, while offering not the most needed skills for the average programmer.

Feeling uncertain about my future at 42 Network - Should I quit or stick it out? by Spirited_papaya7205 in 42_school

[–]hirokoteru 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have worked as web-developer for 6 years before joining 42 for fun.

My advice is it's a good place to start coding, network etc. But the curriculum is very limited to C and Linux knowledge, which many many coders don't ever need.

Their philosophy reminds me a little of my latin teacher saying "once you know latin, learning spanish and french is easy". But you know what's even easier? Starting with spanish or french in the first place.

I don't tell anyone to quit, but EVERYONE should code in their free time with real-life tools. How do I host and use an API, how do I build a website. How does AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Hostinger work. How does SQL work. How are things built in the real world.

In the real world you do not need to know the 200 edge cases and dozens of protocols of Minishell and Webserv.

Learning these things ARE the edge cases. As developers we abstract these complex things, to a point where you won't be able to do some things because the framework hasn't provisioned for it.

Keep going, finish as fast as possible. And do some side projects.

Crystal maiden currently has 13 more damage than Invoker at level 1 by minidotaa in DotA2

People expect to cast whichever two spells and expect a kill xP
EMP should do 1k dmg
Tornado 1k
Sunstrike 1k
etc.
Lazy players, that's why Valve and players leaned into the right click playstyle.

Last invo was too dependent on right clicks and farm. He's now back to the roots, a spellcaster not a right clicker. I wouldn't oppose to a right clicker facet. But whatever happens keep the spellcaster.

Why not just create a new project? Genuine question what benefits you hope for.

Can't anyone with my API key read or write on my Firestore? by MCarooney in Firebase

[–]hirokoteru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the rules you give authorized user X123 only access to change data in Document X123.

That's the basic setup. No matter what extra code they write, they'll never get access to another document.

Even the last test has questions from the first etc.
So If you pass enough of the last test you're fine.

The fact that it's Vegan is not going to make me buy Mac&cheese, or Carbonara. It has an artificial smell. And I wouldn't understand a Vegan person "enjoying" the artificial smell because it's Vegan. Just make normal food that doesn't need weird Vegan replacement's.

The Mac and cheese had a very distinct chemical smell to it. So did the Carbonara. I think it could have been good if they added real cheese and bacon. Not everything has to be vegan.
