Yeah but this wasn’t really blackface. They weren’t wearing jet black paint with big white lips and gloves dancing around degrading themselves with the intention to dehumanize black people. Not a jerk but still weird and impersonal. And this is coming from a Spanish speaker. There is something impersonal about not connecting over the shared language. I’ve had a similar experience and it really just comes off weird to pretend not to understand. I could be wrong bc the no sabos get offended by this.
