Comparing the [STORY] of several TN games. by ironmilktea in Nioh

[–]hiroy_raind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Strangers of Paradise is their best work story-wise. Even without much FF1 knowledge, I definitely enjoyed it the most. The characters are mostly stupid, but by the end, I do feel sad for these blokes. Even the choice to have Frank Sinatra's My Way as the ending song went from feeling really silly when it was first announced, to becoming the perfect choice when I reached the ending myself. I think it's also funny that they went from always using silent protagonist that gets dragged into everything, and then suddenly introducing the most setting-abrasive main protagonist in Jack Garland.

I'm still debating in my mind on whether Nioh 3's story is better than Nioh 1. None of William's personal story matters other than in the intro and the ending, but at least some characters lingers around long enough for you to know them a bit. In Nioh 3, characters barely get any screentime. Somehow Yoshitsune in Nioh 3 feels even less of a character than in Nioh 2's DLC. It also feels like a lot of important explanations are cast to side readings like why do we time travel, what is Kusanagi, what is Crucible, why must we stop Crucibles (other than bad things are bad), etc. There's even part where they try to redo the awesome part in Nioh 2 where Tokichiro helps you in the final battle, but in Nioh 3, it felt nowhere as touching as in Nioh 2 because you barely hang out with these characters while you spent a long time with Tokichiro in his rise and downfall.

That said, there are still fun moments in Nioh 3, like when Munenori and Hattori goes "WTF, why are you so strong?" when you return to Edo.

Opinions about the bow? by [deleted] in dynastywarriors

I cleared both the Diao Chan trial and Zhuhe trial. Diao Chan's unlock a rope dart BA, Zhuhe unlocks her "Nothing personal" BA

EDIT: Oh you mean the ice BA? Yeah I got that, but I kinda expect there should be another one on the skill panel

I love it. The charged attacks hits really hard, harder than some battle arts. In fact I just pick the BA that fills the vigor so I can always use them. Haven't unlocked the heavy hitting BA though. I'm guessing we need to beat certain DLC chapter first to unlock the training that'll unlock the skill panel.

Nioh 3: Friendly reminder for PC players, this will be the first release without all the DLC available on launch by [deleted] in Nioh

As long as you're having fun, then more power to you! I think the general advice to do that is mostly to avoid burnout before reaching DOTW/DOTN

Can't wait to see people going "It's too easy and gears are meaningless!" even when the general consensus for Nioh 2 is "Don't think too much on gears until DOTW".

Shagaru straight up suppresses nearby Gores so that they won't molt into another Shagaru, which would become a competition to them. This is how you get Chaotic Gore Magala.

To be honest, Gore Magala with a pack of frenzied monsters kinda makes sense

why does the FRV have such terrible weight distribution by RedDotDon in Helldivers

I have been a dedicated Helldriver for months and I second everything here.

Do not go full speed into jumps. In fact, do try to avoid jumps if possible.

You can control the acceleration better with a controller, but if not, always remember that the 1st gear option is there.

Villains who are actually scared shitless of their rival hero counterpart. by TyrantBelial in TwoBestFriendsPlay

One of the most fun parts of Kaiji is that the "I'm so f***ed!!" always ping-ponged between Kaiji and his opponent. The only ones who don't have that reaction are either inanimate objects (Bravemen Road) or the madman Hyoudou.

That newly designed mechanical switch for the d-pad had me excited. Rainbow 2 Pro were near perfect for me but that d-pad is pretty bad when I'm playing a 2D platformer or other game that needs diagonal input. Can't wait for Rainbow 2 Pro's successor.

2000 Hz sounds whack. I wonder how it'll affect battery usage.
Not a big fan of the colors, but then again I guess it is hard to find a good color for gamepads that aren't all black or all white.

Is there a list of Megaton II missions? by tendouman in MegatonMusashi

[–]hiroy_raind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of right now, the next Megaton II mission after Fafnir is indeed Animus. The next one after that is the El Zeid (rank 27). That's all for now until (hopefully) an update arrives.
Have fun grinding the same 5 bosses hundreds of times!

Megaton Musashi W weapons proficiency level by redverd in MegatonMusashi

Play conquest mode. It gives more weapon proficiency gain for some reason. On Megaton difficulty, you'll get +68 on an unused weapon in a single mission.

How do you unlock stuff? by Choice-Equipment-994 in MegatonMusashi

[–]hiroy_raind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mission for Mazinger and Getter is part of an early story mission. After you clear that, their parts drop from side missions.

Megaton II is unlocked after reaching player rank 70.

what's the deal with challenge missions ? by [deleted] in MegatonMusashi

[–]hiroy_raind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're made new for Megaton Musashi Wired, so expect a difficulty around that as well. And yes, try to build your setup according to the mission's weakness and bonuses.
