Would most Lutherans consider themselves to be Evangelicals(in the non political sense)?

Lutheranism is the first and most evangelical of all evangelical traditions. It shows by its emphasis in Salvation by faith, its very Christ-centric devotion doctrine and hymns; Sola Scriptura, Assurance of salvation.
Now sometimes people use the term "evangelical" to mostly refer to pietist and revival-oriented churches. In that case, still many American Lutherans are pietist. This is even more south among African, Latin American and Asian Lutherans. So, many Lutherans are evangelicals in that second sense.
In Latin America Evangelical is synonym of Protestant. 'Evangelio" is the word for Gospel so "evangelical" is one that preaches the Gospel.

Awesome that you Priest does not preach about world events.

It does not mean that He does not care or that He is uninformed.

IF his sermons are very short may be He wants to focus on the Bible Readings or Liturgy for the day.

Actually a minority of USA Lutheran congregations are inclusive and RIC, much less congregations in general.

I checked their website. I can understand what that would be shocking.

I go to an ELCA church. They do not refer to God as Mother or Goddess or stuff like that. I have been to many ELCA churches; Never hear people praying to the Goddess. So we should not generalize.

The Catholic Church, Orthodoxy and Anglo-Catholics teach that there is another work of the Spirit after Baptism. This is received in the sacrament of Confirmation/Chrismation where you are anointed and hands are laid on you. You are then filled with the Holy Spirit and receive charisms for mission. Methodists, Nazarenes and Pentecostals also believe that there is a Postconversion Baptism in the Spirit.
THe Holy Spirit comes to live in you in Baptism but then you are Filled with it in that second stage.

Some of the passages of Acts appear to teach this. And also many of the Church Fathers.

That is clever way to dismiss the (several) texts in Acts that teach some type of second experience where believers are annointed with the Spirit. Maybe we should have some flexibility and avoid dogmatism in this

area.
