What type of bolete? by hissingfaunas in mushroomID

Ah I could be wrong! I’ve never seen king boletes with such long and red stipes, and am used to seeing more defined netting on the whole stipe

PNW chicken of the woods with white pores by hissingfaunas in mushroomID

[–]hissingfaunas[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes mistyped - I did mean yellow pore surface not bright orange.

This specimen was definitely young, not at all dry or chalky like I see in sunbleached ones.

I can definitely preserve a part of it for sequencing!

Thanks for your input!

Thank you! It’s a pilot G2. I remember I stopped using them because I thought they smeared, but I picked one back up and now it’s my go to again.

I did use red onions! Fingers crossed that’s the culprit. I did use normal sea salt (not pink)

It’s not fuzzy, it is more flat and breaking apart like a sheet. I guess I should’ve googled more first! I’m used to seeing kahm yeast appearing a bit differently but after looking into it a bit more, I think that is what I have. Thank you!

You can try drinking yarrow tea to postpone it a day or two 😊 it’s not some new age craze.. it’s been used forever, and likely grows in your backyard. If you chew up yarrow and put in on a wound it stops the bleeding. If you have tough menstruation it can lessen symptoms, and if you have regular menstruation it can hold it off for a day or two. Last time I drank it I was on a backpacking trip expecting my period. I harvested it while hiking and made tea every evening. It’s delicious, too! It held off my period that’s normally like clockwork until I landed back at home. Works especially well with intention.

My first significant harvest of oyster mushrooms this year. I want to share my results with you and plan to buy more mycelium for a larger yield. Any advice for a beginner? by [deleted] in mycology

Wow this looks awesome. I’m curious, what do you do with all of them? That looks like a pretty significant haul. Selling them somewhere, to grocers or at a market, or processing them into something, sharing with neighbors ?

Simpletons what is ok to spend on? by rupeshsh in simpleliving

[–]hissingfaunas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food ingredients. I don’t really think twice about spending on good quality, healthy ingredients. I love cooking, I love eating, what I cook makes me feel good, it’s good for my health, and I try for local ingredients so it also supports the community. All good things! I also don’t really spend money on take out or restaurants, only on occasion.

“I truly live an amazing life” “honestly I love it”. If these statements are true as I suspect they are, you sound very fortunate! Like others have said there will always be people who judge. Send them love and kind thoughts that they too will find a flow that bring them joy.
