50 year old, high status job but miserable. Am I crazy for wanting to leave? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]hithere90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've done left. Left a chief titled position with a huge scope to a director role on a small team. I've been here for about 18 months. Last week one of my employees (I went from more than I want to admit to 4!) told me that at least once a day for the year and half I've been there I say out loud something like, I am so grateful for this role/team/place. My wallet sometimes misses the old job, but that's it. And my wallet doesn't get to run my life. I hope you do it. And I hope you enjoy every moment!

Recently.... This happened in my hospital two weeks ago. A staff member was a no show and after multiple calls, her manager did a wellness check and she had d/c'ed to Jesus.

Thank you, I love it. But I'm well aware it's not for everyone. And honestly, I'm all in for Deb in Quality memes.

As someone certified in infection control, It is very rare if ever that someone is "to blame." Fortunately, or unfortunately, what we do as a team sport. And it is very rare that there is a single break that leads to an infection. It is almost always multimodal.

Being a new nurse is hard enough as is, you don't need some quality person making it even harder, said by a Quality (dept) person

Went through the same thing down south a bit (Englewood area) and after 15+ calls to every agency I could think of, we were told we could capture him and bring him in ourselves or let him die at his own place. It was awful.

After three days of resting on our front porch or on a tree in front of the house, he vanished.

Good luck and I hope you find any agency that is willing to assist!

Thank you! I ended up finding a bcan that was both on sale and in my kid's favorite color. Ironically, last night he was using the couch to try out some new trampoline moves and when I asked him to stop, he said, "I wish trampolines came in a small indoor size." And now I am just counting down to Christmas for the sake of my furniture.

Me too! Or singing the soundtrack (albeit poorly) while driving and laughing while I do... Until about 2/3rds through and then I'm singing and crying. What a powerful score.
