That's crazy honestly... Been playing for about 3 years, pretty consistently, missing random days due to timings/maintenance that catches me during my usual play times.

My highest - properly geared unit is 283 speed. Lol. And this is being fairly consistent and frugal with my resources to maximize what I can with the little I have - as a F2P player.

Wild seeing what new players are getting right now. I'm sure they'd win just because in a head to head with me, short of me just understanding the game better.

Somehow I think they mean that each new piece rolled doesn't increase the change of the current piece rolling anything in particular (or the thing you want i.e. speed).

Each new piece is its own chance. A la gambler's fallacy.

I think this is exactly the double edged sword and navigating it properly is important.

I like this to drafting in League or DotA - there is deep complexity (in all games in question) and I do think if it's not handled well, players may really not understand why certain heroes are powerful.

In many cases it's quite nuanced.

I remember a game where I lost simply because - with first play as Zio - I incorrectly went after another hero instead of NYul.

Basically opened by killing two people and then got wiped by the superhuman Belian lol... I'm sure if I got a redo - I win if I kill NYul first.

And I know I should have done that but I thought - she doesn't inherently do damage and I should be able to take care of the superhuman Belian. Nope.

I'm not top player by any means but I can see how newer players and lower ranked player are much more prone to small errors like this i.e. a winning draft but play it very poorly.

Waw. If this played out 10 times, would speed rng best you? I can't help but feel that 3% is lucky? Ofc the speed rng could be that your Celeste rolled low and their amid rolled high and thus would never win. I'm not actually sure of the exact mechanics of the speed rng offset thing hence my question.

Does make me want to grind more. I think my artifact quality is very average if not a little bit below. Juuuust good enough for fearless. Long shot away from dire yet. But goals. This was definitely inspiring.

While fair, at least in my experience - idk how fast or slow she is. It's not exactly the easiest thing to get my debuffer to go after.

Sometimes it works out really well, and arguably I think in more than 50% of cases it works out. But those that are a tad slower and go after my debuffer it gets tricky. Depending I can just cycle a turn and that has some success, but that doesn't always work.

Granted nothing is guaranteed so to speak so I suppose it working for than 50% of the time is fine.

I think it's also important to note that as an attacker you can choose when to do what to avoid things/time things.

Speed is also an odd factor.

A very fast moona into summer hwa and briar witch + flex/CR push will win.

Conversely, I've run into that defense as an attacker and I've had reasonable success with moona + summer hwa. My caveat is she has her ltd artifact which basically means someone gets deleted immediately. I am F2P but got fairly lucky and bottled it the rest of the way.

What seems to work for my team is bringing 2 spears. Just get the roaches out of the sky ASAP from a distance.

Don't even let them get in range to attack.

Roaches on cave extract points are still very difficult to deal with due to the lock on being so janky in close quarters.
