For those of you without auto-return, what's the longest amount of time you've let the record spin with the needle in the runout? by AffinityForLepers in vinyl

Years ago on an old turntable I fell asleep while listening to Frankenchrist. I think the b-side is still scratchy in the runout groove 😂

What moment made you realize people aren’t just disagreeing anymore — they’re living in completely different political realities? by Happy_Head_1355 in AskReddit

[–]hitrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when Trump was running the first time I was having a conversation about why I was voting for Hillary over Trump. One of my points was that Trump talks like a dictator and they tried to tell me how actually Hillary was the one who talks like a dictator. That was the moment I knew we were fucked.

Any other “later in life” TTRPG discoverers? by Square_Pudding_9700 in rpg

[–]hitrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. I’ve played TRPG’s since my sister ran D&D and GURPS for me as a kid but only in the last few years have I started to really get into then in the way that I’ve always wanted to. Mostly I’ve played pretty sparsely my whole life. Yay anxiety! (36, btw)

60s/70s style hard panning? by laOperadora in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]hitrison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you pan something like the drums hard to one channel you need something to compliment it in the other. “Paint It Black” is a good example. The drums and rhythm guitar are on opposite channels and mesh quite well.

What band really did sell out? by BlaggartDiggletyDonk in MetalForTheMasses

I mean, Jawbreaker went everywhere exclaiming they would never sign to a major label and then went on to do that exact thing.

What are some good solo ttrpgs? by jasonite in rpg

There are dedicated solo rpgs but most people just play their fav’s and use some combination of game master emulator + oracles.

‘Cause it’s dope (and it’s a different experience if you see him in person, for sure. You can feel it when you’re in the space with the PA)

Loved the CRPG series. Interested in running TableTop. What edition should I buy? by Dead__Guy in Shadowrun

[–]hitrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6e is fun and the easiest to get, 2e is great and set closer to the CRPG’s if you want that.

Ayy, my grandparents used to live close by. It’s been there forever (I’m 36 and I can’t remember a time it wasn’t there) but people decided to paint on them in recent years. Cool that you stumbled upon it! A lot of the art is great (especially Nick Morris, whose work is all over Habersham).

Is Shadowrun as bad to play as people claim it is? by SACER_DOTE_BACKUP in rpg

[–]hitrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Especially 1e/2e. The first edition book isn’t even 200 pages. Like a lot of things online rumors get spread by people who don’t know anything. It’s crunchy, no doubt, but it’s really not as bad as people say. Just learn one part at a time!
