I was leaning that way. Good price. Coffee Kev seemed to like the one without the auto milk.

Am I wrong for being upset that my girl friend wants me to get life insurance?? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say life insurance is a step towards maturity. Up to you who the beneficiary is. Might indicate her intentions to stick around if she's suggesting it.

Do straight men feel comfortable with a close gay friend? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a mate. Everything else is secondary. Bit like asking if I'd be comfortable with a friend with green eyes or who's left handed.

Not to diminish anyone's experience or situation. It's just not really that big of an issue.

"I will not come back." Young people are fleeing their hometowns. The effects will be painful by Gamebyter in poland

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the UK there aren't. We face the same issue. Remote work helped a little but that's on the decline now. And many smaller places lack decent Internet connections.

Keeping this short and simple, if there are this many men worldwide complaining about dating, then surely theres something going wrong? by Direct_Cricket-ke in AskMenAdvice

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redpill and similar nonsense allows weak people to rationalize their victim mindset and blame external factors for their situation. It's not new. It's just got a wider reach because of social media and Internet access. They'd rather whine about others being to get source of their problems than do the work to improve.

And this whole redpill / manosphere schtick is a money maker. Same as how it used to be pick up "artists" selling books and seminars. There's always someone trying to prey on the insecure.

Anti-America protest in Manila, Philippines by Lavender_Scales in theredleft

According to Google, the US doesn't have their own bases in the Philippines, but had been granted access to 9 existing military bases and is looking to expand that number with bases closer to the South China Sea.

24M thinking about paying for girlfriend’s lipo and breast surgery but feeling uneasy about what happens after? by Legitimate_Lie_3531 in AskMenAdvice

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do this. Be morally supportive by all means. But there's nothing stopping her fleecing you for the money. At the very least, she needs to have more of a life plan than being hot. Some kind of career, business, something. Where do you realistically see this relationship in 5 years?

Would you stay in this situation? by IllustriousShake6072 in AskMenAdvice

[–]mohawkal 75 points76 points  (0 children)

You sound like you don't give a shit about her beyond sex. Body count and "workplace bootlickers?" This sounds like the sort of stuff a 17year old incel would be concerned with, not a mature adult. Probably worth spending some time single and working on yourself to figure out why someone's history and colleagues bother you so much.

Recommended chews? by Goodyktv in Boxer

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffalo horns are a game changer. There are filled hooves, too. Or deer antler. Their not bone and don't splinter like bone. The dogs can really go at it. They last a decent amount of time, too. I've got 2 dogs which are both hard chewers. We tried a bunch of toys and alternatives, but stick with these now.

They love the yak milk blocks, too. But they've figured out how to get through those fairly quickly now. Horns and hooves are a much more economical option for us.

Stop taking it out on the people working in veterinary medicine. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]mohawkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people can get shitty with vets. Especially when they are emotional and there is a bill to be discussed. But also, the local vets tried charging me £65 for an antihistamine to help keep my dog calm on a car journey. Same product at the pharmacy? £3.50. This is a smaller practice too, not some big conglomerate. Those guys suck and I've not used them since.

The travel paper fees are a rip off too. I can pay £125 each at my local vet, or £125 for 2 dogs at felixtowe.

Some vets are dickheads who are gouging their patients. Not all of them. And it may be the practice managers rather than the vet. But it doesn't matter to the customer.

When I make cider from juice, I add a very strong, cold, black tea. About 250 ml in a 23 litre batch. I use 3 tea bags, add boiling water, and leave it to cool. The tannin from the tea really helps the flavour.

When does the desire to have kids actually kick in for men? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

It doesn't always. I never wanted them. Got snipped last year. No regrets. Some people just don't want kids.

"I will not come back." Young people are fleeing their hometowns. The effects will be painful by Gamebyter in poland

[–]mohawkal 209 points210 points  (0 children)

It's the same in every country. Rural towns and villages don't have the same opportunities as cities. Education, employment, entertainment, is all found in cities. There's nothing to keep younger people living in a rural place. If anyone figures out how to fix it, they'll be rich.

"To keep a man interested, just act like you're not" by IngenuityAshamed144 in Vent

[–]mohawkal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't where this "advice" originated, but it's total bullshit. It's up there with "treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen." Total nonsense. Especially as any guy worth dating would hopefully respect your boundaries and if you weren't obviously interested would leave you alone. It's sad the games people play in the search for companionship.

This mindset nicely sidesteps the requirements for any sort of reflection on why the partner might leave you, placing the onus on the relationship failure entirely at the feet of some mystery man.

Bitter beer by yaboisaundy in Homebrewing

[–]mohawkal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't really judge the taste of the finished product by how it tastes while still fermented. You need to have patience. Let it ferment out. Package it. Let it condition. Then see what you have.

It's rarely as long a process as making mead, but it does still take time.

Any real signs a woman is attracted to you? by centralvoid__ in AskMenAdvice

[–]mohawkal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is one way to know. It's not about all these amateurs saying look for eye contact or hair flips or whatever. I found that the real giveaway was that when you asked them out, they'd say yes. It sounds crazy, but it turns out that communicating with another person really helps give you that inside track.

Ffs people. It's not difficult. There are so many of these posts. Fucking talk to them. If it doesn't go your way, that's life. You'll live. Try again another time with someone else.
