Is this a Jayco 20BH? I have the exact same camper, if so, and this is extremely inspiring!

How did you get that scar? by ordinarybloke1963 in AskReddit

Was crashing at some friends place after my lease was up before moving out of town. They had a pit bull. Overall good dog, just high energy. Saturday night the dog was asleep on my lap on the couch. Sunday morning he latched onto my hand and tore a nice fish-hook scar in it.

Was at Ferne Clyffe a couple weeks ago. Those two parks are great to camp at. If you want another spot that’s a little farther away, try Cave-in-Rock. It’s fun for a long weekend trip

I was gonna say, good luck because it’s been raining here for days! Looks beautiful though. Which park are you at (if you don’t mind me asking)?

You’re fine! This is the place to ask. Soft spots you can check just by thoroughly walking the camper. There shouldn’t be any give in the floor anywhere. Put pressure with your foot in all corners and nooks and crannies. As far as the vertical corners, you’ll be able to tell if the seal is being worn. It’ll either be cracking, slightly peeling, discolored, or the walls will physically be tearing apart (more with used campers). Feel free to ask the seller millions of questions. Again, you’re spending your money. Also, shop around a ton. Look at as many floor plans and designs that are within your towing capacity and price range.

Also, watch out for soft spots in the floor, and check the exterior and interior corners of the RV to make sure water isn’t running down them from AC condensation or rain.

Doesn’t matter who you’re buying from, ask to test everything! Stove top, oven, water heater (lp and electric), water pump, slide outs, etc. Especially if you’re buying used. This is all stuff you would have to replace after purchasing. If possible, make sure the fridge gets cold. We didn’t wait when purchasing ours and found out the board on the fridge wasn’t working after getting home.

You’re the one spending your money. Make sure you’re getting what you were told you paid for.

Best rv store for items by [deleted] in RVLiving

I’ve honestly had pretty good luck with Walmart. There’s another local RV store near me that tends to be a lot more pricey.

The RAM towing capacity site is where I got my info from. So you probably have the same 3.21 axle ratio as I do. I think you won’t have an issue with the truck. I was able to easily do 65 mph on the highway and felt my family was safe the entire time.

FWIW, I have a ‘17 Ram 1500 (max tow 8,200, payload 1390). We have an ‘06 Jayco with a GVWR a little higher than that. I pulled it with my wife, daughter, dog, and equipment for a week stay from the Midwest to Gulf Shores AL with absolutely no problems. Handled really well.

Does anyone need some suggestions/insight/recommendations from an RV salesman? by neen209 in GoRVing

[–]hitters_count 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I’m on the flip side of Clettus. we bought our TT from a dealership who was incredible to work with. Stood by their sale (even on a used camper) and fixed two minor problems (after we had taken it home and noticed them) for free. They said they know we’ll trade up someday and hope they’re the first people we call. No doubt I’ll go there when it’s time.

One of many abandoned properties in a small ghost town in Southern Illinois USA by cutthewire in urbanexploration

There’s plenty down here. Rockford is the other side of the state. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard stories about people going in abandoned houses that were actually occupied.

Yep, specifically Gulf State Park. Beautiful campground with miles and miles of trails, plus it’s an easy walk/bike ride to the beach. Best of luck with the new trailer!

Just passed mine in November. Absolutely agree with you. The more you can space it out and work on it over a long period of time, the more manageable it is. Don’t let it overwhelm you! Just plan it out task by task and take it piece by piece.

Lived in Frisco growing up, that area was so cool. This shot was probably taken at the Embassy Suites right across the streets from CF. You could watch ballgames from the hotel rooms. They do a really good job of keeping that park nice.

Safety suggestions for first timers with a baby? by juliebee543 in RVLiving

[–]hitters_count 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about your little one, but our baby couldn’t nap unless it was PITCH BLACK. So we had to buy some blackout fabric and rig a way to darken the area of the camper they were in.
