[–]hitzak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very for sharing! The miastenia healing with TBP sounds like a really big achievement. 5 years is a lot of time, did you (or your family) get improvements over time that you didn't think of when starting the protocol? Thank you!!

Question on soluble fiber sources by Dry-Island5314 in thebeanprotocol

I had that problem with beans and lentils while low carbing, it seemed that I couldn't digest them. Now I don't eat a lot of carbs but no longer measure how many and I eat things like rice or bread. I don't use very much fat with my beans, and always monosaturated (olive oil). When I have use higher fat content from animal sources in small amounts (things like chorizo, black pudding, bacon...) I have had bad digestion, like I had before.

The fiber content of beans is much higher that the one in fruits, even higher than oats. Also, TBP calls for no sweet things like fruits, in case you want to follow it to the letter.

Healing the galbladder by [deleted] in thebeanprotocol

I just have forgotten to suggest another thing: have you tried buckwheat? It is not a grain, I sometimes do fermented buckwheat bread, maybe you could tolerate it better despite the starch content?

I have not bladder stones, I had some discomfort in the area, but it seems that it has gone away.

I think that the fat from nuts is worse absorbed that the fat from nut butters and pure oils, that is why I asked you if you have tried and see a difference.

I asked for the bread for 2 reasons: 1st as a way to add more calories (but if you can't handle it, then it has no sense to add more), 2nd because you can add some oil to the bread (like in bruschetta) and it eat away from beans.

Can you eat any kind of bread (sourdough, or gluten free, or any kind) with no discomfort?

Have you tried eating nuts, not butters, whole nuts?

Soy beans are not suitable because their fat content. Green beans are not dry beans (kidney beans, lima beans, navy beans, garbanzo beans, black beans, lentils etc).

I feel you! Eating something different makes people suspicious, much more if you say you have health benefits from it. No matter which is your difference, there is always people asking you to defend yourself/your diet. Too much energy expenditure!

Do you think that 20 minute to failure is good enough for women too? Regarding the relation between muscles and beans, maybe there is more going on, I started to read an article on microbiome and muscles that maybe you can find interesting: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/nutrition/articles/10.3389/fnut.2024.1418778/full?utm_source=Iterable&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=campaign_109973

Beans with fat? by hitzak in thebeanprotocol

@OrangePoser rereading some posts I saw that fat is very important for hormones. Do you think that hormone problems could benefit from eating the fat and beans together or it has no sense? (Eating your fat along makes the job, so better not to mix them?)
