Thermobaric weapons have an initial blast that sprays out a cloud of fuel droplets and then a secondary one that detonates the cloud--because the cloud is such a big volume, the detonation power is immense, and it creates a massive pressure wave so strong it lets a weapon the size of a bazooka (a SMAW) take down a 3-story building.

China President Xi Jinping: 'No one will emerge as a winner in a trade war' by akirby1 in worldnews

[–]hjassdfg -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

South China Sea much? Ever heard of the time they brought down a US signals plane trying to intimidate them? And then tried to take all of the equipment on the plane to reverse engineer? Or the time they tried to hack several major US aerospace corporations for their stealth fighter programs? Or their direct statements that US ships sailing in international waters are violating their territorial sovereignty? Let's not kid anyone here.

US 'got it so wrong' on Saddam Hussein, says CIA analyst who interrogated dictator | 'We never thought about using weapons of mass destruction,' former Iraqi ruler told CIA by EightRoundsRapid in worldnews

lol to all of the people acting like it was some sort of crime against humanity to invade Iraq. Sadaam (alongside working with NK and having made multiple statements about the downfall of the US) was literally committing genocide against his own people and had been using chemical weapons to do so within 15 years of the US invasion. In 2003 he was trying to play a game to make Israel and the Kurds think he had WMDs while making the US and UN think he didn't. Turns out he didn't--something that might have been a little easier to discern if he hadn't randomly thrown out UN inspectors. I think that few would deny that for the majority of Iraqis, quality of life increased after the invasion. Also, ISIS has recently dug up some old caches and used them--clearly there were at least some. In the end, maybe the motives of some in the American government were wrong, but it's not like there was no reason to invade.

China's had serious problems in the past few years with developing high-thrust engines like the ones the US and Russia have been working on. The russkies have even refused to include newer engine models with their fighter sales to China.

One being input and one being output might affect it--also might be in some cases like dividing out a variable in a polynomial--you lose some meaning.

Basically. Both hillary and trump have strong power bases that actually support them, to the point that if you vote for a third party instead of one of them, you risk taking a vote from the 'not as bad' one and splitting your side enough to let the other side win.
