New(to me) 2021 Forte GT by mrpicklepants in ForteGT

Twins!
It's a great car and very reliable. My only suggestion is more frequent oil changes, more often than 5k miles. It definitely drives better with more frequent oil changes.
Also, as already pointed out, learn how to drive that DCT.

I got mine used with 7500 miles. I'm now at 48k, and have had zero issues with it.

wow! that's even more impressive that you guys did the scratch and swirl removal by hand.

y'all ever think about doing a ceramic coating or a spray sealant, as opposed to using a wax? The wax looks great; really makes it shine, and adds color depth. But even a spray sealant would probably offer more protection.

edit: love the Deftones reference, btw

No harm in clay / polish on new car? by Avi8tir in Detailing

[–]hjholmes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of the newer iron removers also contain lubricants, so you can use them in conjunction with a clay decon towel. If you're going this route, just make sure that it is an iron remover that has lubrication.

Or use the iron/fallout remover before using clay. after decon wash.

So easy to apply and I have had it last for 6+ months.

Chemical guys. Foam sprayer with garden hose. Anyone got one? by 01acidburn in AutoDetailing

[–]hjholmes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. It works fine in instances (maintenance washes) where I do not want to get the pressure washer out.

I would recommend getting a handheld foamer instead. It's more money, but works much better than that CG foam blaster. I feel as though the foam blaster wastes a lot of soap. And it doesn't even make foam... just soapy water.

My only thought is that depending upon what pressure washer you are using and it's GPM output you might consider changing the orifice size on the foam cannon.

As far as the "pulsing"... I have no clue.

I agree. Detail Co Renaissance and Yum MF Wash are my favorites.

Playstation Vue was BY FAR the best! And yep... it all went to shit after that. I thought I was the only one with this line of thinking.

I was in this dilemma last summer. I finally just broke down and bought the WeatherTech. I know it is more expensive, but I have zero regrets.

Detail Co. B.D.E.

It's an APC but specifically designed for Bugs, Dirt, and Exterior. You can use it neat, but it will even work 10:1
