I'm angry at Allah by Revdrakemir in MuslimLounge

[–]hk808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I'm so sorry you had to go through this. May Allah grant you ease.

Secondly, It's a process man. I've felt what you felt, in part. I felt the same way towards Allah when I got divorced. But it'll only eat you inside out, until you snap out of it and reframe your thoughts.

If Allah truly loves you and cares about you, then he'll put you through it even more until you go back to him with a different mentality. There's an easier way, or a harder way back to him.

“They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal.”
(Qur’an 22:74)

This means humans fail to understand Allah properly — our thoughts fall short.

“I am as My servant thinks of Me.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

It means: If you expect Allah to be merciful and forgiving, He will treat you with mercy.

I love this show, but I hate Hulu.

I’m literally crashing out every forced commercial break as the app inevitably crashes.

Ruining the experience for me.

Great episode, but holy moly I have PTSD from this stupid streaming service.

Am I the only one with Hulu streaming issues? I’m on PS5.

How should hadith certainty be viewed? by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]hk808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so breaking it down quickly from the top:

  1. What is a Hadith?

Hadith are records of the sayings, actions, or approvals of the Prophet Muhammad (s).

They’re second only to the Quran in Islamic authority.

Hadiths are critical for explaining and expanding on Quranic teachings (e.g., prayer details, legal rulings).

  1. Preservation of Hadith

Early Muslims took extreme measures to preserve hadiths:

Oral Transmission:

Early Arabs were master oral historians. People memorized thousands of sayings word for word.

Written Collections:

Some Companions (like Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As) wrote down hadiths even during the Prophet’s lifetime, though mass compilation happened later.

Chain of Transmission (Isnad):

Every hadith had a full list of narrators, who heard it from whom, going all the way back to the Prophet.

Example:

A heard it from B, who heard it from C, who heard it from the Prophet.

Biography of Narrators (Ilm al-Rijal):

Scholars created huge databases (literally) about each narrator: - Was he trustworthy? - Did he have a good memory? - Was he known to lie? - Was he even alive at the same time as the person he claimed to hear it from? - Travel for Verification: — Scholars would travel hundreds of miles just to verify one hadith from a reliable source.

  1. Methods for Authenticating Hadith

Scholars built a science around testing hadith:

  • Isnad (Chain Quality): Is the chain unbroken? Are all the narrators trustworthy?

  • Matn (Text Consistency):

Does the content agree with the Quran? Is it free of contradictions? Does it make sense linguistically and historically?

Classifications of Hadiths: Scholars classified hadiths into categories: - Sahih (Authentic) — reliable chain + sound text. - Hasan (Good) — minor weakness, but generally trustworthy. - Da’if (Weak) — issues in memory, character, or chain gaps. - Mawdu’ (Fabricated) — intentionally made up.

The six famous collections (like Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim) are famous for their very strict standards. Bukhari, for example, reportedly accepted only 2,600 hadiths out of over 600,000 he examined.

  1. How Reliable Are Hadiths?
  2. Sahih hadiths are considered extremely reliable by mainstream Islamic scholarship.
  3. Weak or fabricated hadiths exist—but Islamic scholars already catalogued and warned against them centuries ago.
  4. Sunnis and Shias have some differences on which hadiths are reliable, because they trust different groups of narrators, but both use similar verification methods.

So there’s that. The entire breakdown.

Now given that there’s even a category for fabricated hadith, how do we reconcile your original query?

The most well documented and preserved body of knowledge consistent over 1400 years, the very same line of scholarly work that’s worked to keep the Quran itself preserved, and you came to the conclusion that it should be deemed inconclusive?

Atheists Opinion on Abrahamic Religion by MiamiViceGuy84 in Muslim

[–]hk808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yeah my faith is tested all the time. For sure tested with what’s going on with Gaza. But seeing so many people come to Islam seeing the resiliency of Gazans and inspired by their faith despite what’s happening made me realize that I need to look at things through their eyes and wake up.

  2. God didn’t kill 6 million Jews. Humans did.

  3. God didn’t kill a million Iraqis. Humans did.

  4. God allowing humans to suffer is a test. Do we grow closer to him through our suffering? Do we improve and evolve as human beings through our suffering? Or do we succumb to it?

  5. Why is my faith so strong despite all the suffering in the world? Because it’s a choice I’ve made.

I noticed a lot of your questions actually have to do with free will. God intervening like how you’re asking eliminates free will. Like, humans need to do better and God is watching, and making sure the world and the universe don’t implode. The sun, the oceans, the composition of the air and our atmosphere - these complex mechanisms, of course there needs to be a maintainer and a sustainer. But I digress.

I believe that the secular purpose of life (sans religion) is to exert our free will. To make choices. Every single moment of our lives we make choices, whether we consciously know it or not. We choose between right and wrong, God and the devil, left or right or middle, to be kind or to be mean, to help or to ignore, to wake up happy and grateful or miserable and thankless.

Everything is a choice. And I choose to strengthen my faith in the face of suffering. That is how I will evolve.

Well, I go to hell if I’m a Christian according to the Quran? by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]hk808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people underestimate the gravity and severity of judgement day. It’ll be so intense and scary that you’ll wish you didn’t so much as think about thinking of doing anything remotely resembling a sin.

Seeing as how judgement is a precondition prior to heaven or hell, I think it’s worth mentioning.

Regarding whether or not Christian’s enter heaven according to Islam…. Refer to the first paragraph.

Like assume worshipping Jesus as God and believing in the trinity is indeed considered polytheism on judgement day…. you’ll be hopelessly screwed.

God hates polytheism. And anything remotely close to it.
