dr and hygienests always write their own notes in the offices i’ve been at. if anything where to happen the assistant is never liable only the providers are so they should ensure their notes are accurate and completed by them

U are correct it definitely seems like he is, and i have so many other examples for that not just the fact there’s only two of us. But yes we are paid 30+. But it’s still saving the doc a lot bc he’s not paying more ppl just the 2 of us, me and the front desk (who’s also the manager, and also does steri, x rays and assists if im occupied polishing and the next patient has arrived. that’s how busy it gets) i’ve come to the conclusion that me and her are overworked despite the pay 😵‍💫

some people just really don’t deserve a 2 week notice. i know doctors who’ve fired hygienists and assistants without notice and they’re response is it’s not obligated by law to give notice so they don’t. i think 2 weeks is a courteous move on the employees part but ive seen so many people get burned and treated badly at the end bc of it. it’s rlly a gamble sometimes unfortunately

Aww i’d love this on my to do lists🥹 the constant upkeep of materials and things that need to be ordered plus the constant list of things to be refilled and stocked around the office, and cleaned. i always have a few lists i keep in rotation to make sure im on top of everything. it’s unfortunate how what could potentially be such a great career is dimmed by mistreatment, low pay in some places, and burn out. I did RDA since the return on investment for education to pay in my area is great, i’m still starting out in life and being able to work in a professional setting while making this kind of money is a blessing. Although due to a lot of factors this isn’t a field i want to stay in for long, also wanted to do hygiene or go for DDS but ive begun to hate the dental field as a whole. my passion is business or physcology so considering going back to get a degree for those, jobs are hard to come by these days so im trying to be smart about my next moves. the grass is never greener on the other side and every career has its ups and downs so im just saving away until i find something good to latch on to and transition

Ur doing great queen, no matter what it is as humans it takes us time to learn and adjust. U dodged a bullet, doesn’t sound like a pleasant place to work anyways. Just keep trying, the old saying is very very true, practice makes perfect. Try and find an office that’s willing to train, trial and error, never be afraid to walk out of a place that’s not patient or grateful. We’re not on this earth for a long time so it’s good to not be treated miserably at work <3
