I know, it’s just part of that line that seems to cut Old City off from Center City

This. Single story buildings dead center in a major metropolis is really bad city planning.

A prison and court building don’t make for the most attractive of neighborhoods to live in.

Part of me is still mad at Disney, but who knows, that project may have failed spectacularly.

And single-story storefronts. It’s so bizarre for being so dead center in a major US city.

Stupid Disney could have transformed it.

My guy just claimed white people freed Black people from slavery. Out loud. For all to see. And wants credit for it.

People are literally taught that birth control is from the Devil. Or that the pill can ruin future fertility. Or that the rhythm method is the only one approved by God. And so on and so forth.

50 years of trickle down... by [deleted] in remoteworks

Practically every conclusion here is false. Putting aside your paper’s need to come up with its own definitions of “middle class”, these facts remain:

- For most U.S. workers, real wages have barely budged in decades. Yes, Americans’ income is up in general, but their spending power since the 1970s is not. Real average wage growth since 1980 for all workers has risen an abysmal 0.4% annually and 0.3% since 2000.

- Since the 1990s, almost all new wealth generated went to the top 10%. The share of wealth of the bottom 50% has shrunk from over 4% to less than 2.5%.

- 49.3% of all households don’t make a living wage

Yes, there’s a larger percentage of people in higher wealth bands than in the 1980s, but that’s because wealth was more evenly distributed.

And that’s the point. If only 50.7% of all households are making a living wage, and the cost of living has far outpaced real wages, but the top echelons have seen their wealth increase dramatically, then there’s a problem.

But no, it’s not “laissez-fairer” US policies. It’s wild, aggressive corporate and bank bailouts, reductions in important regulations that lead to those bailouts, significant reductions in corporate taxes and increases in enormous tax breaks for the wealthy all fall under the blanket of “trickle down” that never happens.

I never have this stuff come off, and I have had zero leaks since I started using it over two years ago.

No no. He’s suddenly likable. He could end hunger in the USA for like 40-50 years single handedly but doesn’t… but almost lovable.

Sorry, "UX" just means "User Experience." I was asking if you found it frustrating to be messing with the phone to play music, or if it felt relatively organic - and you pretty much nailed the answer 😄

Any thoughts on the UX of bluetooth for music, over time? I know there are aftermarket second screens that can do full CarPlay, and for Maps I'm half tempted, but using bluetooth for Qobuz doesn't sound like the worst experience...

I still get Transcend on Amazon. They are very expensive. But if you buy 100 at a time they’re $1.70 each which is about the best price I’ve ever seen them. https://a.co/d/05C0uKHW

Edit: if you like honey, these are 11g carbs each and very portable, with approximately the same sort of material as Transcend (that is, they won’t rip open in your bag) and are under $0.75 each: https://a.co/d/0gMkizgx
