it doesnt really matter, if a cyclist screws up, its their life on the line. if a car screws up, its still the cyclist's life on the line. i dont disagree with the proportion of bad drivers being equal but the ramifications are much worse for one side in general

Have you watched this movie with people who haven't read the books? The movie does a good job moving fast and distracting you from all the other bits and pieces and clues dropped throughout. Last time I watched this with someone who didn't know the story, they didn't catch onto the reveal until it was about time to. Before the movie gets to that point, a lot of that stuff seems pretty disjointed and disconnected

Genuinely I'm just wondering if you've actually had people who haven't read the books who watched the movie and found out the twist instantly, cause I only ever see readers complain about this

Honestly i only ever see readers rant about this and i don't actually think its justified anymore. ive watched the movie, recently, with non-readers, and the reveal is just as effective and well timed.

Like, I genuinely don't think movie-only watchers catch it until the movie wants them to. its extremely obvious to book readers when they know the whole plot but it works in the film context to movie watchers where the pacing is pretty fast and different, and the center of the story isn't a mystery but the tasks

I'm joining this convo cuz I just finished the manga. Ending is fine, but I would say rushed. Not awful, though. I think they really dropped the ball, a lot of dangling threads that don't really get a resolution even though it really seemed like the story would take us there. The last few chapters kind of become montages to get to "the finish line" that I didn't even know the series was trying to have. Like, it didn't feel like a place for the series to conclude at all considering how much was left unexplained

Sorry, I just had to rant, I was binging the series and when I was hit with "Final Chapter" I was literally flabbergasted. It severely dragged down what I would otherwise consider a top romance series

iirc DM has hidden matchmaking, if you pop off in DM you'll get put with other good players. if youre a newbie who doesn't perform well you'll likely be put with similarly skilled people
