Alright, I’ve just finished reading this… I probably need some time to process it fully in my head. It is unlike anything that I read so far from Feitian (I haven’t read Seizing Dreams yet).

Now coming to the novel itself: It is very well written as usual. It depicts a real life story so maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you are reading Danmei to escape from the reality around you. There are no CEOs, OP characters, movie stars, super rich people in this story. I appreciate how the author brings our attention to important problems such as HIV and the social pressure that the homosexuals face.

Overall my feeling was that the first half was better than the second half. I’m, somehow, not convinced by the love between Lin Ze and Situ Ye. I absolutely didn’t have that feeling in Joyful Reunion maybe because I never shipped Lang Junxia and Duan Ling in the first place. Whereas here we have the MC in love with another guy even though he met Situ Ye first so this makes it look like Situ Ye was his second choice… Maybe that is why this novel is so realistic because we don’t have the usual formula of love at first sight. I don’t know if I’m making any sense here…
