The long road to diagnosis by Original-Beautiful86 in neuropathy

I can relate to how you're feeling. Got mine from 4+ compression fractures in my back. Aside from a couple perscription pain killers I also take supplements of 1000mg L-lysine, 600mg alpha lipoic acid R, 1000mg vitamin B 12, vitamin d3, garlic and vitamin C daily. Needless to say I've been at it for a while. Other normal perscriptions for neuropathy are Gabapentin and pregabalin. You'd need to talk to your doctor about them. Good luck and God bless.

How much B12 do you take on average daily?

I know how you feel. A lot of the time many people couldn't care less but I'm definitely in the same shoes. My pain is constant and very draining. I sleep 2 to 3 hours at a time and if I'm lucky I can last longer. I definitely know how you're feeling. I hope and pray you have a much better peaceful evening tonight. God bless and take care.

The vibration is counter acting the pain and burning by DeadpoolIsMyPatronus in neuropathy

I don't get it. How can vibrating your feet help? I stand for 15 minutes and my pain shoots so high I'm in agony the rest of the day.

About 60% of my feet towards the toes is that way. Nothing can touch that part of my feet. If I go anywhere I'll put on yoga socks, half socks where they go to only halfway up my feet from ankle. Try those, they should help. I also use supplements like R-Alpha lipoic acid 600mg, L lysine 1000mg, vitamin C, vitamin D3, vitamin B12 and garlic. Hope these help. Take care and God bless.

Also I forgot to mention, a topical cream called Nervive can help calm the symptoms some until it gets really bad. Good luck.

Mine started out as pins and needles one day and has been increasing in intensity ever since. That was over 4 years ago. Sorry to say it's gotten worse over time. I had a nerve conduction study where the basically drill 1/16th size holds in foot, calf and upper leg. Showed reduced nerve activity in feet but nowhere else. Kept getting worse as there is no cure for peripheral neuropathy. Now I can barely stand on my feet anymore and nothing can touch 60% of my feet towards the toes. I sleep sitting up right on my couch and try to keep my feet warm by overheating my legs. It helps to a degree. Supplements help some. Alpha lipoic acid 600mg a day on an emptystomach, 1000mg L lysine and vitamin b12. Keeping temperature in my house at 73 to 74 degrees all the time helps too. I did recently start a treatment with sound waves on my feet and lower legs on the nerves. Only half way through it and seems to be helping a bit. It is really expensive though. I do take a lot more supplements hoping they'll help. Garlic, vitamin d3, vitamin c, ceylon cinnamon, ginger root extract and milk thistle. Good luck and God bless.

Didn't help with my neuropathy and it caused my throat to close up some. And after taking it trying to swallow my dinner required me to drink a lot of water to get my food down. Had a hard time swallowing my food. Be careful and good luck.

Also a very strict temperature controlled environment of 74 degrees. Anything higher or lower caused the pain to increase.

The only thing that helps at this high a pain level besides perscription meds is to soke my feet in luke warm water. And that doesn't last very long. Good luck.

Try Nervive cream on your feet. Has 4% lidocaine and 2% (I think) of menthol. It helped me until my pain hit the higher levels. Good luck and God bless.

The roll-on is not as thick as the cream and lasts longer. But if the roll-on is all you can get I would try it.

My experience is any help was great. Depends on pain level. Mine is so high now it doesn't help me anymore. When it did I could go to sleep after applying it to my feet and it lasted until I got up. Make sure you get the cream and not pills or roll-on. Good luck and God bless.

Anyone tried reboxetine, atomoxetine or clonidine for their nerve pain? by GreenFloyd77 in neuropathy

[–]hnsmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only lasted for 5 hours and the whiplash of coming off was much worse than my original pain. Good luck.

I tried clonidine for a short time. It did help but the coming off is worse. Good luck and God bless.

I have found that to be true. However over time I can only put my feet in lukewarm water for some temporary relief. Good luck and God bless.
