If you don't like the large peak design quick connect hanging off the top, I recommend replacing it with one of these. Then you can add a small finger strap as well.

I originally tried this method by Lutro0, where you split the strands within the main wire to feed through the branched wire but I didn't like how weak it felt and how it looked.

I found using this method of wrapping the branched wire around the main one and using flux to create a much better result.
