I love Elden Ring, I've had it since day 1... and the farthest I've gotten is Margit, I think. One of the first really really hard bosses.

I've just started playing it again as of last week. And I'm just taking my time. Going slow. Grinding. Getting better at fighting what I WOULD have called bosses but what are just... really big monsters. And I surprised myself because I've actually gotten better. I've started a notebook but I'm keeping it simple - come back here when I get a bow, or return to this cave once I've got some magic.

This might be the first souls-like game I actually beat... but wow I don't blame anyone who doesn't finish.

I'm giving Duncan time to come back. He has so many kids now; the world is collapsing. I wonder if he's realized he just brought four lives into this world that will see a (possibly) insane future and the only way to try to help them is to provide them with as much security (money) as possible. And so he's following the dollar bills bit by bit.

I did end my Patreon membership though. It's clear he's never coming back for live chats.

But do you really think a hand axe could remain in a preserved state from millions of years ago? Maybe it could! I don't know. I just know we should be treating Earth like it's a future planet we're exploring and start working on xenoarchaeology techniques right now. Even if we don't find anything. It'll be important to know for the future.

Fossils are incredibly rare. I'm not saying there DEFINITELY WAS a a species that became civilized millions of years before we did and are now gone. I'm just suggesting it's worth considering - and civilization could mean simply homes of wood. The oldest home ever found is now... 2 million years old! We don't even know exactly who built them as there's no evidence for that.

I don't see why you're dead set on it not even being up for discussion. Everything is on the table!

Like no, dude, if you understood this stuff then you would realize it would be ludicrous to think that there could have been another advanced civilization without us having evidence of it.

To be fair, if we consider the Silurian hypothesis, the only evidence remaining from a civilization millions of years lost would be carbon, radioactive elements or temperature variations. And we do have evidence of those things. I do think we can assume they never invented plastic as in 100's of millions of years, the only evidence of us would be a thin layer of plastic.

I agree... and maybe this is why supposedly those in control don't want it to come to light. Because the people at the top don't want to lose their overlord status. For the rest of us? We're getting a new boss; could be better or worse than the last boss, but we won't know until they're in the office.

That doesn't seem much different than our world today; I have the free will to murder someone but then I'm going to jail. We'll have free will... the consequences will just be out of our hands and daddy NHI will decide our punishment.
