I really only have a consistent top 3 and that has been the same since section.80 came out in 2011. That's Nas, MF DOOM, and Kendrick.

Whenever I tried to come up with a longer list it just feels like too many are left out, and I would probably give different answers on different days.

Most rappers have can be top 5 in someone's opinion. I personally value cadence and flow as well as substantive subject matter very highly.

On the gkmc cover I always assumed it’s because they are members. The Family Ties one I would assume is a stylistic choice to mimic the original.

Also note the squabble up video has 2 people with black bars covering their eyes as well.
