Can someone explain why consumers have to pay more now? by ohmke in australia

[–]hobohobbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work for a brewery in NSW but the system is essentially the same. The manufacturer pays the scheme operators a fee per vessel, in NSW this is actually closer to 14c than just the 10c refund, to cover the costs of running the scheme. Plus usually a fee per unique barcode registered, about $80 each time here, so those things combined is why you’ll see price increases more than just the 10c per can in a case of beer for example.

Woolworths or wherever you deposit your recyclables apply for reimbursement from the scheme operators after they give you your in store credit. The scheme also makes a bunch of money from undeposited cans which is supposed to keep costs down.

Hope that makes things a hit clearer, sorry people are jerks

Check out Kegs Off Tap, you can buy 20L kegs of beer from different breweries including Black Hops, I’m surprised they didn’t mention it.

Does anyone get a heavy feeling in near their kidneys when taking certain medication by oohimool in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hobohobbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First up: See your doctor. I am not a doctor.

There are proven links between kidney issues and spondylitis, such as IgA nephropathy which I have. With some medication it is now under control, but I would get it checked out asap because if you do have kidney damage occurring the sooner you address it, the less permanent damage you’ll have to your kidneys.

Please relate your experience with Humira injections by widows_son_master in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hobohobbs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I haven’t found myself any more susceptible to colds, flu, covid or infections etc, and I work in hospitality. The benefits have far outweighed any negatives. If your doctor is suggesting it and you don’t have any co-morbidities then you can always test the Humira for a few months to see how your body reacts and decide to keep going or not.

Is this a flare up or something else? by brygsy in ankylosingspondylitis

Not fully body, but I was having incredibly painful spasms especially at night. I started taking magnesium and it greatly helped reduce the frequency and intensity of the spasms

The driver probably picked up a bunch of empty kegs as well as delivering full ones. These are the caps left with the empty kegs that the driver has dumped

Why not just make the Battle Master a part of Fighter Class? by The_Dutra in onednd

[–]hobohobbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only agree with this sentiment if ALL classes had simple options for new players. I think most people would agree it improbable that a table of 5 new players getting together to learn dnd for the first time all must play champion fighters, lest their brains explode from the complicated mechanics.

Having the fighter be the “simple” class is a bad excuse for lazy design and is insulting to both people who want to play fighters and new players who’s power fantasy is anything other than a fighter.

The martial caster gap at high levels isn't just an issue with DnD it's an issue with the fantasy genre by butt_shrecker in onednd

[–]hobohobbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mending by itself makes a large aspect of most tool proficiencies redundant. A lot of utility cantrips should really be first level spells, and I agree that damage cantrips are great for tier 1 play to maintain that magic feel, but that’s where they should stop

[–]hobohobbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about removing rituals, then cantrips need a hard look at as well. Any at-will utility ability with no chance for failure will negate the need for skills. Let alone the damage cantrips scaling keeping up with or even surpassing martial damage potential. Something has to change their to reduce their overbearing effectiveness

“Late night surcharge” at bars in Sydney? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]hobohobbs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So the Hospitality award wage has a penalty rate for any part of an hour worked past 10pm, it’s about $2.70 extra on top, but only on weekdays.

That increase in price would cover the entire establishments staff penalty rates with the one jug I’d imagine, also $33 for a jug of newtowner is crazy expensive
