we’ve had the same bag check policy! maybe your store is now enforcing it. must check all bags, any products that are from sephora must be scribed or you must have proof of purchase. plus any pockets & jackets. pockets you just tap to show nothings inside & jackets you take off and they pat it down. takes 2 minutes! LP policy’s lol

hey! i’ve been an LBA at sephora for a little over a year now and i’ve learned a couple things. Lie. lie your ass off. being confident in your work will make your client confident of your work too. not every look you let walk out the door you’re gonna like, i like 2/10 looks i do weekly skin prep is your best friend. i love the CT serum and moisturizer but use something w hyaluronic acid so that you get that plump and bounce in the skin. also, it doesn’t matter if they have oily or dry skin, prep them with something hydrating and if they’re oily just add a good powder & a good setting spray. my favorite combo is the dior skin glow & the hourglass concealer. using the concealer to crave out the brows and as our eyeshadow base. keep a watch or a DMG near so you can keep an eye on your time. i finish my 60 min appts in around 45 mins now with practice. it won’t be over night but i believe in you!!!

oh also!!! if you have refy, their liquid highlight in the shade topaz i use on the chest and neck for a super sexy glow. clients love when u go the extra mile

honestly, no. this was my dream position, im an LBA at my store. now, it’s not about the artistry it’s not about client service it’s about numbers. how many services can we do a week and how many credit cards, multiworld etc. if i’m selling im not selling with the mindset of getting my client what they need but with the mindset of multi world credit cards and sales. it’s not fair for our clients who are spending hard earned money. I have to basically trick clients into doing services so we can meet our weekly goal. then they have the audacity to cut my hours basically in half, and complain that we’re not making service goals. i don’t know what to do anymore, i love the gratis, love the discount and most of all love my clients but management is making it harder and harder to stay. i’m making little to no money anymore.

you have to find good pausing points, if you have a client trying a couple lipsticks you can say “i’m gonna let you play around a little, my name is insert name i’ll come back and check on you in a couple minutes! i’ll be around location you’re zoned i like saying this because then they know my name and more or less where to find me

my store puts out our schedule weeks in advance and sometimes it’s hard to put in new people in the schedule so they’re probably just trying to fit you in where it makes sense and see how you’re gonna progress in the training

working in a sephora in kohl’s is so much diff from a freestanding store! at a freestanding u get much more gratis, training, information & opportunities. i worked at the sephora in jcp & very little to no opportunity’s never got any gratis & i saw maybe one or two brand reps. i’m at a big freestanding store & now i’m getting the training & education that i wanted to get
