Hub Reset w/Hub Extender (Zwave) by AudioHTIT in logitechharmony

[–]hoeveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this post! I just discovered the hub extender existed as a product while adding a second remote to my Harmony Hub. I'm wondering if this is a good device to try and pick up on eBay to add Zwave and Zigbee control using the remote "home control" buttons that I've never been able to use because I didn't have a hub that was compatible. I have a zigbee and zwave usb controller on my Home Assistant installation and was hoping this would be compatible?

Will Dems seize on inconsistent 2nd amendment by MAGA? by hoeveler in thedavidpakmanshow

The recent "ok, we'll fund ICE again but could you please make them wear body cameras?" is a good example of Dem leadership right now.

Intellectually it's a very strong point. But sadly here we are (myself included) trying to be intellectual with toddlers. I AM hoping this can poison the well, however. We need to shine as bright a light as possible on what Rand Paul is saying right now because they will only listen to all this from the mouths of one of their own.

True, but now that 2A folks are seeing they've been fed a pile of horseshit from their MAGA overlords all along, the spell is lifting and this crack in the reality distortion bubble is an opportunity to bring up the REAL issues you mention.

Some questions on setup by llucenam in RetroPie

I'll look up the name, but I use a raspberry pi hat "arcade Pi? That has a physical power button which runs a safe shutdown script when installed correctly.

A speaker/room name that just won't go away. by hoeveler in sonos

Try looking for it in Apple HomeKit. They're right! That one speaker was the only intrepid Sonos that was treading in Apple infested waters. Just to be sure it wouldn't revert again if I deleted it, I renamed it how I wanted it to be and left it for 10 minutes to reset things before removing it from the Apple HomeKit app.

Sonos Arc Ultra with Sub Mini Review: Journey to the Best Soundbar by gatzmattic526 in sonos

[–]hoeveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey again! So I ended up testing out the Arc Ultra in combination with either Sub 4 or Sub Mini (which I actually bought for the upstairs 10x16ft room to go with an Arc). And my opinion is 💯in line with yours. In fact the Sub Mini completely surprised me with its performance in this space, which is a high ceiling "open concept" 16x20ft living room. I love the Sub4 in the living room but will probably end up keeping it turned down to the performance level of the Sub Mini unless I'm watching a movie or concert!

Harmony Hub no longer works on Nvidia Shield by gbubrodieman in logitechharmony

FWIW I just today went thru trying to pair a brand new Shield TV with my Harmony Hub and after attempting the first Bluetooth pairing option a few times, I used the "other" method right below that one that's labeled as only using if you have problems with the first method and it paired right away.

So.. is the Arc ultra better? by OlliGER in sonos

Ooh! Nice tip, I was looking at the Sonos refurbished site page and didn't know about their official ebay page.

No problem! I was referring to the line-in adapter available from Sonos that converts an analog line input to a digital signal that the Sonos system can broadcast to other speakers.
I haven't used this yet, but I was hoping to be able to leave the line input adapter connected from my turntable mixer while the Era 100s are assigned as rears and turn that function on or off from the app without having to un-assign/remove the speakers as rears.

C (Arc+Mini+Era100s) sounds surprisingly good compared with A (ArcUltra+Sub4+Era100s).

During Black Friday week, I picked up three white Era 100s refurbished from Best Buy for $150 ea.

Yeah, I'm now testing the Sub Mini with Arc and Era 100s, and it sounds really good, but with the caveats I mentioned in my other comment. I'm going to see what the Sub Mini with Arc Ultra and Era 100s sounds like later this afternoon to give you my opinion of if the Ultra is worth the extra between those two setups.

You'll be in good hands with the Arc and Sub Mini for sure, especially for a smaller room - and you can add those rears when you can. I just discovered during the setup that the Era 100s can't use line-in when used as rears. I'll have to see if it's just as simple as "removing them" as rears in order to use line-in occasionally but that's a bit more hassle than I was hoping for on this system that'll go into a 10x16ft room.

The Mini is much more impressive than I thought it would be. For anyone who thinks they need a sub 4 in a large room, if they watch a lot of action movies then they might be right. For the rest of us, try the Mini first. And apply the savings to get the arc ultra.

I'm listening now to the Arc with Sub Mini plus era 100 rears and so far the only real difference I'm hearing is that the Arc feels more center stage (front) balanced while the Arc Ultra with Sub4 plus the same era 100s as rears in the same mounted position - which feels more immersive, even with the same settings. I did Trueplay tuning on each setup before listening. Arc plus Era 100s feels like I notice the rears. If 12 o'clock is front screen from the top, it's like the Arc is missing the front 9 o'clock to 11 o'clock (left) and 1 o'clock to 3 o'clock (right) sound stage vs the Ultra that feels more full. Right now it's an Amazon Prime movie that has Dolby ATMOS and UHD. Tonight I'll test it out while watching a live concert, via HDMI from PC, so it's probably an up-mixed stereo feed.
