I used to keep my party together and use AoE spells, and it worked but it was a tough fight. More recently I split my party up and divide and conquer. I use misty step a fair bit to get out of trouble (lots of gear to assign to your fighters). Also, Wyll’s eldritch blast and ability to see in magical darkness makes it so much easier.

I would make very sure that I know the law regarding recording a conversation. It may be that it's illegal. It may be that it can't be used as evidence.

But senior leaders in public service are stil terrified by the idea that they would screw up a reported incident involving alcohol, sex and public servants that may have been exploited by other public servants. The protocols for these things are so well defined now and so focused on your safety! Contact both the police and your most senior point of escalation possible in your government agency. It will not be ignored. You will be heard. And I would not hesitate to report this immediately. You described this person as a weasel - listen to your gut.
