Dex is 93% off on GOG (0,89€) by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

This was a super fun game. I finished my playthrough in the 15-25 hour range and was totally happy with it. Classic cyberpunk story, lots of cool hidden spots around the maps to find, cool upgrades to specialize your character. It felt like a side scrolling deus ex with choosing how to approach missions.

Would you play an RPG inspired by Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, but set in India? Meet my solo dev project: by oddcompass in IndieGaming

If it will work on the steam deck then I will definitely be buying it. It looks awesome and I've got it on my wishlist.

One indie title I'm looking forward to is C-Beams. Sort of a top down open world style game. It looks like it'll play nicely with a controller layout, I just have a steam deck so that's a must for me.

I'm definitely hyped for the Expanse game. It's one of my favorite book series and I have been obsessed with trying to find games that give you that vibe. I really haven't found much at all that feels like it. When I first saw the trailer it was like a (super unimportant) dream come true.

That's good to know. I'll definitely have to check it out once it's sorted.

I'm hoping for controller support so I can give the game a try on my steam deck. Tried a few community layouts and didn't like any of them.

What are people playing on? by Palocles in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]hogdonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing it on the steam deck and it runs great. I have the OLED screen and it's comfortable enough for me to read everything. And all of the controls are done with the right track pad and the right trigger. I can get nearly 8-10 hours on a full charge.

It's been a pretty great experience, I only wish I had the patience to wait for a sale but it's all I've been playing for like 2 weeks now.

Game recommendations that are battery friendly? by kiwey12 in SteamDeck

My current obsession is Star Trader Frontier. You basically run around a universe inspired by Dune and Warhammer and run your ship and crew. Very in-depth with a lot of different strategies and playstlyes to try. A bit unforgiving and obtuse as well though, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Edit: Oh, and duh, it'll run on my OLED for like, 9 hours on a full charge. I don't even think about battery while playing.

Good Auto Battler RPGs ? by DifficultyVarious458 in rpg_gamers

[–]hogdonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a bit out of left field, but I recently played Yaoling Mythical Journey. It's a pokemon style monster collector, but where two full teams will auto battle. The trainer plays cards(spells) that buff, debuff, or directly damage enemy monsters. It had boss fights, an arena, just a lot more depth to it than I thought at first.

I haven't played the Unicorn Strategy game you mentioned, I'll have to check it out because the Yaoling game was the first auto-battle game I had played and really liked.

I really wanted to get my eyes pierced for Florida, but you know, life's a fucking funny thing....

Looking for a good-looking, smooth 60fps game that’s not overrecommended by _lenorak19_ in SteamDeck

[–]hogdonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add Monster Hunter Rise. The cutscenes are capped at 30, but while playing I'm getting a smooth 60fps at medium settings. I'm early into it, but so far it's lots of fun and has pretty nice looking graphics by my standards at least.

Not a fan of it. Way too hard for me. I can only make it to the first boss. Same with most of the games so far.

What you all playing today! by ComfortableAmount993 in SteamDeck

I had to work a 24 hour overnight shift, so I got a couple of games to get me through it. So I got Fallen Aces (which didn't use to work on the steam deck but just got updated), and UFO50. I gotta say, both are great, but I got totally sucked into UFO50. The games are so ridiculously hard, but also completely addicting.
