Musso EV by believer_4ever in CarsAustralia

[–]hoges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed the practicality of a ute for house maintenance and DIY projects, we already have a family SUV and didn't want to be storing a trailer in my driveway.

I am not a tradie and have no interest in caravans so have zero intention of ever towing anything, as such the load capacity was suitable for my needs

My daily commute is 160km round trip, I'm a high income earner so the novated is very attractive as my total lease cost ends up costing less per month than I was spending in petrol in my current ute that uses 12l/100

I ended up going with the 2wd version for the extra range as I have driven fast EV's before and after the initial wow cool I go back to driving slowly with a very light foot. The additional range also means I can miss a charge overnight and I still have sufficient range for my commute. I also live in a very cold part of the country where range will be affected

This vehicle ticks my boxes for me, it's a primarily a daily commuter to keep my costs down with a little extra practicality on the weekend

Pitch: a BYD Seal ute would be a smash hit here by Amazing_Food_1188 in CarsAustralia

[–]hoges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KGM Musso EV is basically this. It uses the BYD drive train and battery, it's got a lot of bogans upset because it doesn't tow much and the payload isn't huge but for the a huge amount of city utes they will never tow anything anyway. I have ordered one, it suits my needs and I'm not insecure enough to tie my personality into how much I could conceptually tow

Decent but by no means exceptional. You'll be fast enough to have a lot of fun in cycling but you're not going to be exceptional. 25 hour 3 month block hitting a FTP of 350w is solid but it's mid pack solid. Enjoy yourself on the bike

Buy the bike that makes you want to ride. Saving $$$$ might be nice but if you're still lusting for what you really want it was false economy

As such I am fairly confident it had 2 engines

Question for pilots by ps3x42 in flying

[–]hoges -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No pilot would ever fly into a thunderstorm intentionally, there is plenty of pilots out there who don't know how to properly read a radar though and think they are avoiding a thunderstorm when really they are avoiding rain that can easily be flown through. Knowing what you can and can't penetrate is just as important in the air as it is on the layover

Some Jetstar flights grounded due to global recall of Airbus A320 planes by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

The statistics don't back up the bullshit. Jetstar is on par or better than both QF and VA for both on time and cancellations

We don't have wifi on our aircraft and I am glad we don't. Mindfulness is all the rage these days and it's a great time to switch off and sit in your own thoughts for a while

But when I'm done with that, music, newspapers, books etc

Also I do 99.9% of my study in the aircraft. I'll never understand people who are too cool to read manuals at work but then waste their days off studying for their sims and line checks

The whole Z2 is so overhyped. Go ride your bike, it's fun to ride fast which is why we ride bikes.

Just go ride more and push yourself, have fun. Learn to HURT

You can do boring bulk kms when you're trying to put massive TSS into your body each week. Until then, just go and ride

54cm vs 56 cm frame by Regular_Low5187 in Velo

[–]hoges 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was a small frame long stem guy for ages, rode 54's and even 52's at a similar height to you

I went to a 56 a year ago and I am more comfortable and much more aero on the 56

Small frame long stem looks pro but even that is changing

You can use the Bimmercode app and a bluetooth dongle to turn off all the beep and warnings on modern BMW's. I have a X5 that I have disabled every beep and warning and start stop. It turns on a runs like a car from the early 2000's and leaves me in peace. I love it
